Wow Fayore, that's pretty good, really. XD But honestly, 360? I don't see 360 and Tales blending too well. D:
There's been some arguing over the forums (I don't really go there, just heard here and there) about a different director? Blah blah blah...
Anyway, hey, isn't Innocence out now in Japan? I dunno. I'll just be patient and wait for English versions, haha.

...Has anyone else noticed that Abyss is getting really hard to find, and kinda really expensive to boot?? o__o; I was looking on Amazon.com, wanting to buy a copy for a friend, and it was $45 for used version, no game manual. Anything else was, like, $50 and over. D:
...I'm being REALLY careful with my copy of Abyss now. Myaa, not fair it's so expensive and hard to find already; it's only been a year~ ;_;

So thats no excuse not to take a quick look, besides it's the first topic in the "Video Games" topic.

Are you serious? It must've had a fairly short production run, then. o_o; I'm not much of a fan of Abyss, so I could never really tell.

As for the Tales forum... I don't really go there either 'cause the people there are tards for the most part. The really annoy the bajeezus outta me... XD;

Anyway, there shouldn't be any debate as to who the producer/director is since that's what the trailer actually says. 8| I don't know who it is to begin with, but under the guy's name it said "Tales of Symphonia" and "Tales of the Abyss", so...

And really. Fujishima! :0!!

And yup! Innocence is out. I hear it's actually kinda good. :0 I might pick up a copy when prices go down.

Aww, why didn't you ever get into Abyss? I love that game to pieces. Well, okay, it's really nice having friends to play it with, and I love the battle system. :] That's why I'm not too big a fan (as of now) of Innocence; I'm more into multiplayer.
But... Symphonia II... looks REALLY PRETTY. : D (In parts. In other parts, it's still a little awkward...)

Ah, well~ all the new Tales coming out seem pretty cool. Too bad they're on so many different gaming stations that I don't have. ;__;

I dunno. None of the characters ever really appealed to me, if not making me outright hate them. o_o;; But then again, most of my experience with them is from people who I roleplay with, so it might be a slightly biased view of it all. XD;

Anyway, I'm super hyped about ToDDC. Very Happy!! There was a promotional manga chapter published in the most recent edition of Dengeki Maou! http://www.dengekionline.com/dmaoh/index.html

some scans: http://gallery.abyssalchronicles.com/thumbnails.php?album=112
translations of the colored pages: http://miken-chan.livejournal.com/15969.html#cutid1

orz I really want that copy of Dengeki Maou now~ The art is so pretty!

Also (unrelated), SO1remake was released a few days ago! I wanna play~ Of all the SO games, SO1 is my favourite. XD

Oh whoa, SO1 remake~ *__*
I dunno, have they given us any new info on SO2? (I haven't gotten SO1 yet; but since there's a remake, I don't see too much point to getting the ROM)
Last time I checked, the screenshots they had for SO2 weren't particularly impressive, so I wanna know if that's still worth it. (Though, if anything (AT ALL) is voiced over, if they have more playable characters, I very well might~)

...I'm stuck in my SO2 anyway. At the last boss. D:

Aww Fayore, you should give Abyss another shot, though. I ended up liking everyone. *_* I wasn't too fond of Anise in the beginning, but all the characters are pretty deep, and Anise has one of the best designs in battle ever. ♥

I like how you picked up on Anise right away. Man, she annoys me. And I don't think I'll ever like her. It's just one of those things, I guess.

Anyway, I can't play it now even if I wanted to since I lent it to a friend. xD;

As for SO2, I think that one's more of a port than a total remake (this is just an assumption, though). FFT was like that, too. SO1 looks totally snazzy, though. They put in new anime cutscenes and everything! Opening: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Y1JaGEUVgY

Actually, Anise annoyed me for quite a while. I wasn't ever a big fan of Anise's outside design, but her battle character is still amazing, and she's cute sometimes. : ) *just beat my second playthrough (finally), starting third, loving it*

Also, HOMG I think I might just go ask my friend for that ROM now and start SO1. D8 I mean, it's JAP release, right? Daaamn...
Oh, well, having a PSP is really nice~ : D

Umm hey Fayore? I've heard about how they had a Euro release for Tales of Eternia, and according to product details on Amazon.com, it's compatible with US PSP systems. If this is true, I am SO getting it. *____*
But I heard there was some Volt's cave glitch and you need PSP something-or-other version 2.5 or greater?? Do you have any idea about this? Since I bought my PSP recently, I figured it'd be up to it... or is it? ?_?

IMO, SO2 will be worth it even if they left it exactly the same as the original. I own the original and I'd do murder to get a remake, even the exact same remake ^.^; But I'm kinda psychotic about SO2, so don't mind me...

Plus, it comes with SO1! SO1!!!!

I hate to say it, but I never got fully obsessed with Abyss either >.< I liked Anise, personally, but the thing I could never deal with is the INCREDIBLE stupidity of Abyss' AI. I seem to be the only person who has a problem with it, but I swear it's not in my imagination. Even having Jade and Tear at maximum distance and maximum "Cast spells, do not engage the enemy!" setup, they STILL run right in to attack physically and end up getting creamed. Guy's not much better--if I don't play as him myself, he gets himself killed every other battle. Anise is the only one I dare to leave by herself.

And I still don't like Luke.

Interestingly, I started playing Legendia again this Xmas break (purely because I wanted to finish it and never look at it again--I didn't like Legendia much at all X.X ) and beat the final boss of the main story. And I got to the character quests. And now, all of a sudden, I'm addicted. The character quest portion of the game is actually fun. Having access to all of the characters and learning about their backstory is actually vastly entertaining.

I think Legendia was supposed to be an experiment in saving all of the character development until after the world is "saved." It's a good idea, and a very realistic one (who has time to explore personal feuds when the world could be blown up at any second?) but unfortunately, it REALLY doesn't work because it makes the characters shallow and unsympathizable for the first half of the game. There actually is depth in the Legendia characters! O.O I know. I couldn't believe it either.

Aww, I still adore Abyss. Having pals to play with lessens the stupidity of the AIs... But when my pals aren't around... well, that's what shortcuts and Moon Selector are for. Smile! I love Moon Selector to pieces. ♥
Um (still defending Abyss, lol) so yeah, the AIs aren't perfect, but if you can toggle between two or three fast enough, and keep the magic-users casting, I can usually keep most characters alive. : D Plus, with Natalia's Angel's Breath, Tear's Resurrection, and Anise's Time-Travelling Girl (also unlocks Resurrection), death is cheap in Abyss. It's easy to combat, and the battles still aren't too difficult. (Unknown is just a matter of levelling up.)

SO2's fields just bothered the hell out of me. Late onto video-gaming, so I'm not too big on sprites and whatnot, but the field/dungeon being a 2-D picture with 3-D navigation... uhh, NO. Didn't work too well for me. @__@ (I hope in the remake they make Indalecio/Gabriel easier to beat, LOL)

And I've started Legendia, but every time there's a party or I get stuck in Legendia's dungeons, I keep going back to Abyss. u__u; I just really hate the random battles; someday though, I hope to beat it. I do like the music and characters a lot~ (also, getting to throw monsters, whee~ : D)

Granted, where I am, I only have Tear's Resurrection... >.>

Oh, the 2d-3d bothered you? I will admit, I thought it was kind of cool, but I can definitely see how it could be disconcerting as well...

I'm really starting to love Legendia's characters. It's really got awesome female characters, although I'm still pretty "eh" on the males. Will's just a Raine rip-off and although Jay gets good lines, I can't stand looking at him... @.@ But Chloe, Norma, Grune, and Shirley are all very good characters, to my way of thinking.

Homg, not everyone's infatuated with Jay. I'm glad. I just like listening to him talk, since it's Fayt's voice actor. XD; (<--cheap)

Oh man oh man, it's unbelievable (and I'm not really that far yet) how much I like the girls in Legendia. I adore Norma. XD She's just so... damn... cheerful~
Senel had a great design, but to be honest, he's a pretty boring character otherwise. I do like Moses, though. :] And I really want to meet Grune. : D

The 2D-3D thing was kinda cool, sure, but it didn't help when I couldn't tell what was an entrance and what wasn't. >>; Then again, random-battle dungeons just piss me off. (Also, the fact that I'd most times have a higher chance of surviving if I just fought rather than escaping, no matter how long it took...)
Oh, btw, Astri, any tips on beating Indalecio/Gabriel??? XD; I've tried a dozen times and failed, LOL... First time I've really gotten stuck on a final boss. u__u; (<--plays too much Tales, as you can see.)

Also, you should really just beat Abyss at least once before you drop it. It's really good, I promise!! And I love fighting Nebby. (Also, Cameo/Exhibition in Coliseum... WHOO Reid Hershel and Nanaly and Mint and Philia 8D)

Yeah, I just wish Jay could be heard and not seen ^.^;

I do love Moses (though his considerable lack of attire could contribute to that >.> ) and I actually find Senel interesting because he is a non-altruistic hero. He really doesn't care about jack other than Shirley, which is cool because most heroes are rather over the top with their philanthropy. (Or just mega-emo. Like FF8's Squall. *vomits* )

OMG, I ADORE Norma. But let me tell you, if you think Norma is cheerful, just wait until you see Grune XDDDDDDDDDDD

Who's Nebby...?

And as for Indalecio, what team are you using against him?

Uhh, sorry, my bad, by "Nebby" I mean Nebilim, the equivalent of Abyssion from Symphonia. But oh-so-much more badass, and who casts the coolest Mystic Artes and attacks. : D She's a 3-second high-level magic spam-caster, along with having artes from pretty much every character on your team, which are also her Mystic Artes. Smile! She's fun as hell to fight. ♥ (To me, at least.)

UHHH hoo boy, Indalecio... Um, Claude, Ashton, Rena, and Leon. It doesn't help much when Ashton can't seem to hit and Leon insists on standing still and doing nothing, despite the command/strategy I've set him to.
He basically wipes me out each time... u____u; It's just a resurrection-fest until Rena dies... *sigh*

Ohhhh, Nebilim! XD

Well, as for Indalecio...

Make sure Claude and Ashton both have max Parry skill, and put all of their accessories to defense or HP boosts. The Prism Ring might be a good idea as well (it protects you from all damage with a 1/20 chance, and Indalecio hits a lot, so it might be worth an accessory slot). You'll want both of them equipped with their best customizable weapons, as well (the Melufa for Ashton and the Eternal Sphere, Windsley Sword, or Sacred Tear [if you must] for Claude). Blacksmithed armor is also probably a good idea. You definitely want Claude using Mirror Slice...and really nothing else, although Ripper Blast or Sword Bomber might be good secondary Killer Moves if you've used them a lot. BE SURE TO TURN THE STRONG BLOW SKILL OFF, OR CLAUDE MIGHT KNOCK INDALECIO AWAY FROM HIM MID-SLICE.

Ashton's Killer Moves are mostly useless--you just want him using Sword Dance. Again, turn off Strong Blow or Ashton's likely to knock Indalecio away from him before he finishes his moves. Dragon Breath is a passable second Killer Move if you want, but Sword Dance + Mirror Slice is the real way you wanna go.

Also consider maxing out Gale, so they run faster; Body Control, so they might survive otherwise fatal blows; and Spirit Force, to raise their defense. And make sure you turn off Strong Blow (I really hate this skill, can you tell?) and Flip.

For Leon, Customize his Ancient Wisdom book and turn off all his spells except Demon's Gate. That's the only one that matters. And if you have him at "Use all MP," he should cast it EVENTUALLY...

(Demon's Gate actually has really good casting time, so I'm surprised you have so many problems with his casting Sad )

And for Rena--turn off everything except Fairy Light, Fairy Heal, and Raise Dead. Equip her with the Fallen Hope to halve her MP cost, too.

Now, it all depends on who you're controlling. If you control Claude or Ashton, run straight at Indalecio always. Manually dodge as much as you can, but you basically have to rely on your armor and Parrying skill to protect you. (Boosting evasion is good for this reason.) Get in close and Mirror Slice/ Sword Dance the hell out of him. When he casts Time of Truth, he starts flying, which makes it harder, but just keep after him and rely on Leon's spells to help you get in close.

I wouldn't recommend controlling Rena, because she usually heals just fine if you set her to "Heal all allies," but if you control Leon, cast like crazy and keep an eye on everyone's HP. Basically, make yourself the designated item-user and try to heal if someone runs low on MP or gets hit when Rena's between heals. And it's a lot easier to heal someone with a Resurrection Bottle than Resurrection, so turn off Rena's Raise Dead and throw Resurrection Bottles yourself instead. If Claude and Ashton both die together, throw two Bottles, regardless of the wait. It's usually better, IMO, to wait for the item time than to distract Rena for the Raise Dead time when she could still be healing.

Um...so, yeah. Hope that helps ^.^;

Holy shit Astri I love you. XD *frantically taking notes* I'll give it a shot; hopefully my characters are up for it. u___u; Maybe I should level up more; but I don't want to waste items, and no way am I climbing out of that dungeon just to restock and come back. u________________u;

I do throw life bottles, but apparently not enough... I'll give it a few more shots, though. Haha. Thanks. *when I get around to trying again, LOL* Also, I suck at customization. D8 I got myself a minus sword, but I never could get the second refinement with Mithril to give me that... Eternal Sphere, was it?? >>; (<--doesn't remember squat, lol)

Yeah, the Eternal Sphere ^-^ Use the Orchestra Super Specialty. As long as the music plays, your Item Creation attempts will literally be 99% successful ~.^

And as for items, just use the Familiar specialty. If you get it up to level 10, you can buy all the basic Berries and Bottles you could ever need (although you need Pet Food for it).

Holy shit Astri
so uh
Mirror Slice is officially godly. *___*
We had Indalecio staggering nonstop, but then....
...well, then he decided to bust out Feria.
...And then it was a dying-fest. u_____u;
I used resurrection Mist, I threw Resurrection bottles left and right, but it didn't do me any good... he wipes out half my team with that flood-y move, and killed everyone but Claude by about 100 HP with this one huge explosion-shockwave move.....
UUUUUUGH.
...Uuuh Orchestra Super Specialty? What's that?? *__* (I don't have Opera Vectra or Precis on my tream, I know, I suck...)
Also, my pet training skills apparently suck as well, and I recently found out that I only had 4 blackberries.
...Is now the time to give up and die? 8D;

UUUGGGHHH Yeah so, thanks a lot for the tips, a lot of them help, but I still can't beat Feria and Indalecio together. *sigh* I really might just want to painstakingly dungeon-crawl out, level up some more and stock up, then dungeon-crawl my way back in. u__u;

XD That's okay, you don't need Opera or Precis. If you get multiple characters to learn the Music specialty, you can use the Orchestra Super-Specialty--it uses one Conductor's Baton (and requires you to have a lot of instruments) and your characters play music that replaces the BGM. As long as the music plays, you'll have a 99% rate of success with ANY Item Creation you do. Customization, Blacksmithing, Cooking, whatever.

If you do level up some more, put points into ONE person's Whistling and Animal Training skills so they get a high Familiar level (you only need one person to have it). Then put Leon and Rena's points into Motormouth first (max that out! It's very important!) and the Music skills next to level up Orchestra. Put all of Claude and Ashton's points into Combat skills. They'll need them.

Something else you could do to get Familiar or Orchestra fast is put a low-level character onto your team and fight with them for a while, so they level up super-fast and get a load of points. You could also use the Reverse Side Super Specialty, get some Forged Medals, and Reproduce them (Forged Medals give you a free level up). But be careful with Reverse Side and Reproduction, because if you mess up, you get a Bounced Check, which leeches money away from you every second you have it and requires you to PAY a shopkeeper to get rid of.

I love the people who made SO2 ^.^
