Fanart Central (NYSE: FAC) has been purchased by the mudkip infested Deviant Art (Nasdaq: DAX) for a sum of $12.4 million.

From their press release "Fanart Central has managed to build a the community full of skilled artists that we have never been able to achieve on our own. We hope this acquisition will help improve our brand image through the import of better art from FAC's extensive collection."

An account migration tool will be available later this week.

I have to commend whoever came up with this one, it actually had me going for a second. Until my dad told me to stop freaking out and look at the calendar. Mudkip-infested, LOL. I'll have to use that line sometime.

Also, props to whoever did Pheral's eyes in the logo. It's a nice touch.

Nah, big companies over pay for stuff all the time. Look at the purchases of Facebook, Myspace, Youtube, etc.

And MS is trying to buy Yahoo for billions. Who the hell even uses Yahoo anymore (well, except email and yim)
