Gallery Sections?

How do you make a gallery section in your gallery? I thought that this feature was implemented in the New layout, but apparently not.

Also, I [i]thought[/i] FAC was going to have an Honorable Mentions after Featured Art in people's profiles. What happened?

I don't think gallery sections are implemented.

Honorable Mentions was something in the beta version. It was basically four pictures you can choose to display in your profile after your Featured Art.

Gallery sections are still under construction. They were too much work to get into the this version. May make it into the next, but probebly not.

Honorable Mentions has no specific ETA.

Agreeable, though I would want one for "Scraps" as well, which consist of WIP pictures, lineart, or unfinished pictures. I would organize mine by media, such as "colored pencil", "Photoshop", "openCanvas", "marker", "pencil", etc. Or, I would want some categorized by subject matter. i.e.: "InuYasha Fanart", "Dogs", "Anthros", "Emoticons", "Portraits", etc.

This will help clean up our galleries and be able to find a specific piece of art in a person's gallery easier and faster. I use gallery sections at dA, too.

I want to see a "Scraps" heading too. Adding it is almost trivial compared to user-defined gallery sections.

The big question-mark for now with user gallery sections is whether to allow a given picture or story in multiple sections at the same time.

(Denis, from the current code standpoint are the picture_categories and story_categories tables even used?)

Yeah. Like I said, a "Scraps" gallery section would be very useful.

On dA, you can put a single piece into many different gallery sections. I hope that will be possible here, too.

But, will it be able to feature the "click and drag" interface that dA uses to move pieces into different gallery sections? I don't think that it could be possible on FAC.

Yes they are used.

story_categories is the only link between stories and categories.

picture_categories is used, but the cat_id is also in the pictures table because the extra join was too much for the server in the really huge categories.

Someday this can be used to allow pics/stories to be in multiple categories.

Technically possible with the right combination of CSS and AJAX, but that's a damned hard mixture to do right so don't expect to see anything like that over here for . . . almost ever.
