Maybe you've heard about leaked scans from the latest Nintendo Power issue, but in case you haven't:

Nothing says 'retro' like 8-bit styled graphics and soundtracks.
I gotta admit, I liked the original Megaman games, so I'm a bit interested in seeing what this one shapes up to be. (Not to mention the apparent battle against a robot dragon boss. Megaman hasn't had a dragon battle since, what, Megaman 2?) _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

I've noticed a lot of hype for this game. It looks interesting. I've never played any Mega Man games before though, should I get this one? |

Check out the official "box art". LOL:
http://www.wiiware-world.com/news/2008/07/mega_man_9_official_box_art
In related news, various interviews have confirmed several gameplay elements:
1 - You don't get to slide-dash or charge the Mega Buster.
2 - Enemies drop bolts, which you can spend in an in-game shop between levels.
3 - The game is going to be HARD with a capital H.
The combination of #1 and 2 is particularly interesting; since they mention that the in-game shop is there in part for the softer-core players out there (selling Energy Tanks, et al.), I wonder if the slide-dash and chargeable mega-buster will be purchaseable abilities?
There are currently two demo levels, one of which distinctly includes a large bolt pickup sandwiched between two platforms, such that only by a slide-dash or some kind of fetching item/weapon will the player be able to acquire it at all. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

This thread is unusual in that Strata posted two links, and neither of them were to wikipedia. _________________ Go Yankees! |
