Wow I can't beleive we might only be playing this console in the future. We may be saving a lot of money, but it would be weird not seeing a PS4 or XB720. What do you think about it?

Are you fucking retarded? Do you remember the last thing Steve Perlman made that he said would change electronics? It was fucking webTV. Do you remember webTV? I do. It was fucking awful.

Also, you can't pirate anything, it will lose a giant market right off the bat.

Also, having an entire console that you cannot play unless you are online sounds like a terrible idea.

It'll suck, what happends if your internet goes out? And it wont have the 360's, PS3's or Wii's exclusive games. So It'll get all the retarded games.

Like every new fad, it gets all the attention while it's still young.

However, so-called "cloud" gaming won't replace the joys of something you can play with nothing more than a power source and a television. And there's just two problems:

1 - What, exactly, do you "own"? You don't have a physical game disc or manual. If the service goes down, goodbye, so does all your games, all the money you poured into it for the digital permission to play their service. Again, with existing consoles all you need is a TV and power, everything else (even with a downloaded title) is self-contained.

2 - No matter what they say or claim there's ALWAYS be latency between your end and the server. Universal. Fact. And a lot of things can happen in the 10~200 milliseconds of round-trip time your game's data packets must endure, especially in the racing or FPS genres.
OnLive Inc., a startup from Palo Alto, Calif., revealed its service Tuesday night at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. Users would get a small, simple device to connect to their TVs, or they could run the application on a PC. Their screens would receive the game video from OnLive's servers, which would do the data-crunching needed to render a richly detailed environment. No game console or high-end gaming PC would be needed.
Again. Say you're wielding a sniper rifle at 10x zoom, you press the Fire button on the crosshairs of an opponent's head. Game console tells the servers, but in the time it takes for the information to get there, the guy sneezes. The servers calculate that your bullet whizzed by him, missing by mere inches, and blew the head off a nearby fountain lion instead of him. Oops. You missed and now he's got a good inclination where that shot of yours might have come from.
