I can think of plenty of anime where main characters die. Plus 2 where almost all the main characters die (not counting apocalyptic ones)

i would agree that Wolf's Rain would be one of those cause as i recall dont they all die and like forget what happened or something?(my ex loved the show and she made watch the last few episodes so i wasnt sure what was really going on)
