Maybe that's your problem. If you want to draw well, for example body proportions, you have to study from reality, not fiction. Anime, in fact cartooning itself is already a simplified and stylized 'essence' of how to communicate the character being drawn. If that's all you study from, you're missing out on a LOT.

I think you did go overboard with the size of their heads and I would suggest looking at some real people and some actual anime characters to get the proportions down. Other than that though I think it looks pretty good. |
