She's slowly becoming broken. They keep taking little things from Cervantes and Talim, and leaving her with shittons of safe moves, great speed, great hi-to-low mixups, and generally letting her stay the only S tier in the game.

For years I said Sephiroth was the number one badass but yeah, he's a close 2nd now that Kratos has stepped onto the scene >D

Oh how could I forget this pain in the ass?

Ansem from KH and CoM. I hated him more in CoM cause his voice sucked majorly and his nonstop talking about darkness and pedofile-ness towards Riku made me wanna dropkick him into next week. (He was better in KH, his first voice suited him much better)

Kratos is an awful, generic character made to appeal to 13 year olds. Despite the fact that the series is fun, Kratos is a weak lead.

Kratos is actually based off the real Hercules. Except they made him "darker".

Also Kratos COULD have been more generic; like wearing a suit of sparta armour with a plum helmet and looking like he's from Africa but they took a huge leap and made him from scratch. I'm sorry but I havent seen a bald pale spartan with random looking weapons in the greek mythology since Kratos was created so yeah he's an original design case closed xP
And I think Aren was right about that part, after all he does find out he was the son of Zeus considering I remember zeus telling him "You will not become the new ruler of oylmpus" or something like that after he stabs him.

You're dumb as rocks. Kratos' character design is generic as hell (HURR DURR BALD N' PISSED) but his character makes even his mediocre design look amazing.

Kratos would be a great character if it was not completely apparent that the story was NOT planned out in advance. If you look at it from the view of Kratos being a tragic hero, doomed to repeat his mistakes, and fall from grace, he would be gold, but from the extra content in GoW1, it's completely apparent that GoW2 was something they pulled out of their ass, and that Kratos' character is just some pissed off bald guy with no development whatsoever.

EDIT:

For the record, the possible story paths at the end of GoW1 stated that the possible next game would have either covered
A) Kratos' mom dying, but not before telling him that Zues it his dad
B) The Titan carrying the temple of Pandora's box is found in modern times, and new God of War is crowned
C) Kratos' brother seeks revenge after overthrowing Hades

Yes but you dont see an angry bald guy charging around the greek world now do you? You see guys in helmets! Ah dur and quit trying to flame me your only making yourself look like an ass who frowns when people disagree with him. Sure you arent mad that people made Kratos look like you? RICK ROLLED!

Also the game is a breathe of fresh air from all the halos, sports games (They need to die), and movie to games (Which fail in my opinion)

The reason they made Kratos look the way he did is because they wanted to give him personality, they wanted to show his face and not hide it behind a lame greek helmet. And they thought a sword and sheild was wayyyy too typical hence the chain blades. (They even gave a STORY behind the chaos blades being bound to Kratos)

Also the story is damn solid too. He isent just some typical guy going "Rawr I wanna destroy the world cause im angry!" no he had a reason to be pissed at the world. Ares tricks him into killing his family, he wants to kill himself but the gods make him a new god of war, Zeus takes away his godhood when he is doing WAY too good of a job being the god of war, and now he is heading towards mount olympus to kick his old man's ass for putting him through all this crap.

Also the reason the story is soo mopey is because: HELLO?! GREEK STORY?! Most of the greek tales end in tragedy idiot, have you heard of one that went "and they lived happily ever after" no I dont think so. That's why I like this game becauseeeee it sticks to the way greek stories are told. Pick up a friggin book or pay attention in school.

tl;dr, You seem to be getting pretty mad that GoW is a meh game.

It just doesn't stack up against most action games, and apart from the incredible production and narrarative style, it has no actual substance, and pales in comparision to good action games like ZOE2, Onimusha 3, and DMC.

I thought God of War was an okay game. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't as epic as it could've been.
As for Kratos, I kinda like how he doesn't have curly jew hair like most other hero's. That's just my 2 cents though.

I definately think it's a fun game, I just wouldn't call it good. The gameplay left a LOT to be desired, and does not stack up against other greats in the genere, but made up for mediocre gameplay with great presentation.

I thought the combat system was ok. If they tried to make it super confusing like Crisis Core or RE5 people would have rejected it. (Also some say Dissidia as a mind numbing combat system)

People like an easy combat system cause some get super pissed when they are trying to do something like pull out a different weapon yet get killed in the process. And I love a game with a good puzzle to it, hence why God of war can proudly stand next to RE4 in my book. Also it has a few rip off games that are much worse. (That chick with the red hair, she uses the same weapons in her PS3 game, people say this game is much lamer, probly cause they ripped off God of war when it came to the combat fighting style)

All in all its a good game in MY book. Its challanging and it has violence out the ass along with a good plot. If you like these qualities (and if you dont mind abit of nudity) pick up this game ppls xP

The combat is trash. Even on God mode, Square Square Triangle rapes everything, and every other weapon other than the Blades of Chaos are useless. As far as action games go, Devil May Cry 3 and Ninja Gaiden Black absolutely shit all over it.

GoW is a prime example of style over substance, but that isn't to say it is a bad game. I thouroghly enjoy the series, and will probably pick up GoW3 eventually, but it doesn't match up to others as a great action game.
