I heard 358/2 days was pretty good. I mean who doesnt want to be their favorite Org member running alongside a friend on missions slaying heartless? Im all for that. Plus you get to go through the game as Riku too from what my bf told me. (Demeanor him and I will gut you -loves her bf to death-)
And of course BBS is going to focus on the disney aspect again, tis how everything started when the heartless came etc. Plus im dying to see what the new enemies the unbirth will look like. (Cant look any cooler than Xion's unborn form from BR3)
Plus they should have put Nomura in charge of Dissidia, he would have left the costumes alone for most of the characters. I mean if Sephiroth and Cloud's outfits arent broken, dont fix em! Plus he would have done better with the graphics. Crisis Core's in game scenes and movie sequences still make my jaw drop. They should have done a better job on the fighting system though (what the HELL was with the slot machine option?!) it felt as if you werent really fighting the enemy. Hence why I like KH2 and KH, you can actually run up and bitchslap them if you wanted to when getting angry at the enemy for smacking you around.
Crisis Core was trash. It felt like playing KH, but without anything that made Kingdom Hearts fun.
I had real high expectations for it too.
Felt bad, man. _________________ |

I had to beat Crisis Core just to see the ending.
Movies wern't too bad, but they gameplay left more to be desired. |

Endind was fucking awesome, but the story just felt kinda stupid.
Mainly everything involving Genesis and Angeal. _________________ |

Gensis eee gad I wanted to smack him for all that damn poetry reciting. And he was just a whiney crybaby cause more people remembered angeal and Sephiroth more than him. I kinda thought the story was ok. They showed Sephiroth wasent a total jackass and he had a good heart (Even thought about leaving shinra) and was a good leader. But genesis had to go and open his mouth and make Seph snap. But hey if it werent for this nancy boy we wouldnt have had FF7 huh? xP
The fact that they took out the dodge button as a day one staple honestly just offended me. It made me feel less like I was playing a game, and more like I was watching the combat engine unfold how it wanted. Also, the new, floaty and over-the-top air combat took a lot away from the challange of the game, since your attacks homed in most of the time anyway.
Lock-ons and auto-targetting are facts of 3D game design. Would Ocarina of Time be so fondly remembered if you weren't allowed to lock-on to any of your opponents?
EDIT: Also, the new magic related changes were piss...
Disagree, mainly with regards to the Cure magic. The fact that it drains your entire MP just for one usage means you have to weigh its usage carefully, and otherwise survive long enough for your MP to recharge. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

Lock on is fine, but if I press the attack button in midair, I should not be flying towards the nearest thing and hitting it automatically, and the way that the game was designed, they all but forced that on you. It felt like babies first action game, and frankly, made combat almost no fun at all.

Except it fully healed you, and left you unable to use any other magic. I liked it better when it only partially healed you, but let you chain it. THAT was desicion making done right. _________________ |

Or at least not attacking something outside your direction of travel?

KH2's Cure actually healed your full party (or at least all allies within a good radius). Original Kingdom Hearts's system had a cheap side of its own, too. Equip a few MP Rage abilities and you essentially get free healing because just about anything strong enough to require Curing will have given you enough MP to cast it.
Regardless of whether the battle system operates in realtime or turn-based, by stats/luck or button mashing, they play very differently depending on the types of healing items/skills you have available (if any).
For example, I remember one time in FF6 (SNES FF3) where it became nearly unplayable because I had managed to expend every last Cure, Potion, Ether and Elixir, even Phoenix Down in my inventory. In retrospect I could've probably equipped an MP-draining weapon and struck out against whatever non-undead enemies were in the area, but . . . . _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

ya but the game is still mainly a button masher cause the magic is difficult to get to in the middle of the battle _________________ Why are you staring at me? Are you annoyed because I'm the only one who has cake? |

No more difficult than it was in the first, and even then you only end up using three spells on a regular basis, which is what your quick-access menu is for. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

ya but you could still get through the game by using cure and your keyblade no other magic is needed just useful in some situations _________________ Why are you staring at me? Are you annoyed because I'm the only one who has cake? |
