(Im not sure if im bumping a thread here but if I am please let me know KINDLY and I will bow out xP)
Everyone has an opinion on these things, for myself I think I usually am tied between liking both the original and the remake, here's a few examples:
Beat it by MJ, Beat it by Falloutboy
JENOVA FF7, JENOVA FF7 AC
One winged angel FF7, One winged angel FF7 AC
Smooth criminal by MJ, Smooth Criminal by alian ant farm
FIGHT! FF7, FIGHT! FF7 AC
Living la vida loca by Ricky Martin, Living La vida loca, shrek 2 version
I like to move it (Unknown), I like to move it, Madagascar version
However I do lean towards remakes sometimes more than originals, for example here are the remakes I like more:
Hollowed be thy name Cradle of filth > Hollowed be thy name Iron Maiden
Stay Cradle of filth > Stay (Unknown)
Devil Woman Cradle of filth > Devil woman (unknown)
Mr Crowley cradle of filth > Mr Crowley Black Sabbath
Careless whispers Seether > Careless whispers (Unknown)
Thoughtless Evanescence > Thoughtless Korn (i think?)
Paint it black Within Temptation > Paint it black rolling stones _________________ Our life is made by the death of others...

Not really, cause I myself didnt like the original of "Careless whispers" seemed too sappy and blah ish however Seether rocked the heck out of it!
Devil woman seemed too country-ish however Cradle of Filth showed just how creepy the song can be when in the right group's hands x3
Same deal with when they did "Stay" _________________ Our life is made by the death of others...

well, theres also:
Tom Petty - Running down a dream
Wednesday 13 - Running down a dream
Tom Petty's version is softer, where as Wednesday's is screaming. |

Ashley Tisdale, along with every other disney 'star', needs to STAY THE **** out of music. |

And true about the disney singers -shudder- they killed many of the songs that should have been left alone T^T
However Maryln Manson's "This is halloween" remake and "Sweet dreams" remake were done rather well dispite sounding creepy. _________________ Our life is made by the death of others...

Yeah, it depends on the song, or tune, I guess. Can't think of any right now... |
