It's coming! In less than 24 hours 2009's "National Novel-Writing Month" is about to kick off.
http://www.nanowrimo.org/
Perhaps you've heard of it, NaNoWriMo asks people to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days or less. It's not as easy (or as hard) as it sounds, because the whole point is to simply GET STARTED on your novel. You can't finish the thing if you never pur any words down to begin with, right?
I've participated in Nanowrimo for the past two years myself -- and that's including all the duties and distractions (top of which being a 40-hour per week job) that I have to deal with on a daily basis.
You know who you are. You have characters or a story idea bouncing around in your head but you've been too busy to develop it on paper (or word processor). If you can find the time to start writing it down, you probably have what it takes to write down 50,000 (or more) in a single month. It won't be the best 50,000 words, but you'll know what you can put yourself to do.
Anyone participating this year? Fan fiction counts as a novel just the same as original fiction -- Nanowrimo.org doesn't set much in the way of rules other than "don't start before Nov.1st" and "write at least 50,000 words before Nov.30th". _________________ Strata here: - FAC - dA - FA? - Funart - Wiki |

| I wasn't sure about doing it this year or not. :c So, fan fiction counts? lol, I'm better at that, even though I have ideas for an original story for I while. I just can't get a solid plot. :/ So I'll probably do NaNoWriMo with that next year. |

Speaking of fan fiction, I've chosen Final Fantasy 6 as the setting for my Nano 2009 novel.
The plot? Well . . . FF6. But with a bit more of a modern setting to it. _________________ Strata here: - FAC - dA - FA? - Funart - Wiki |

Why, why, why on Earth did they pick November? Only December is more inconvenient. _________________ Go Yankees! |
