What do you guys think that Nintendo will come out with after the Nintendo Wii?

Me and my friends were discussing that a new console system may have DVD capabilities.

What are your thoughts?

No fucking idea. They've changed their business model completely, but the market they appealed to is dying.

haha yea the fat people are all dying from heart attacks. all thats left are the little children. I'm not gonna buy Nintendo anything until those lazy piece of shit Sonic Team Wannabes release another REAL Zelda game. I mean come on, Windwaker was fun and all but they were just milking it with Phantom Hourglass and Spirit tracks. Speaking of Spirit tracks Where the fuck did they get that concept? did they see 34 of Thomas the tank Engine Fucking Saria or Something?

Anyway more on topic it would most definitely be more useless "innovative" bullshit. Most likely something to do with mind control. I have very little faith that they will release something as good as SNES ever again.

Sure, whatever, and Mega Man 2 was just cashing in on the success of Mega Man 1. Really, Solaris, have you even PLAYED the new Zelda yet, or are you just complaining for the sake of it?

(Whenever somebody plays the 'cash cow' card I should really be responding with "what else would you use the cow for?")
Me and my friends were discussing that a new console system may have DVD capabilities.
DVD player manufacturers must pay royalties on the DVD video codecs, which is one of the reasons Nintendo didn't opt for it already.

I have played Phantom Hourglass and it was a horrible game. The story was retarded the premise of Spirit Tracks is retarded and the DS is retarded. The controls blew the game was way to easy and overall it just didnt feel like a Zelda game. If I wanted to see cartoony violence I'd watch Looney Toons. Its pretty sad when a game on a supposedly superior system fails in comparison to a game on the older, obsolete system. The Oracle games and even Minish cap for GBC/GBA were FAR superior. I want a REAL Zelda game. If anyone at Nintendo were intelligent they would be remaking the First game. I would buy a Wii just for that.

I agree that I didn't like Phantom Hourglass as well, and I turned down my dad's offer of him buying Spirit Tracks for me for Christmas. Neutral

I'm not really a Zelda fan [don't kill me!! D: I just never got into them], but I agree on some of the points. :/ The Wii is fun and all with some games, like the second Tales of Symphonia game and No More Heroes [HOLY CRAP THAT'S FUN. <3]. And it has decent shooters, like Dead Space and that new Resident Evil game that came out.

But I'm going on with a Wii rant, and that's not what the thread is about.

I really don't know what's next for Nintendo. :/ For me, personally, I still have a REALLY fun time on my old Super Nintendo. I don't even own a Wii- I just play it at my friend's house. I really don't mind what the company does next, since I'm so attached to my 360 [<3]. But it would be nice to see something with as cool a concept as the Wii but with more capabilities. Like, I'm not complaining about the graphics or anything, but I still think the Ps3 and the 360 top it. [Oh gawd, I probably just started a graphics war.]

Long post is long, lol.

Tell your friend he is a terrible liar, and deserves nothing short of death for his crimes

It's a prequel that takes place during Downfall
I have played Phantom Hourglass and it was a horrible game.
Phantom Hourglass was not "horrible" in any objective measure. A bit formulaic, but it's Zelda formula. I did like how it seemed you got the treasure "early" in the dungeon, it sort of felt like once that happened then the "REAL" dungeon began. I kinda missed the seamlessness of the GCN Wind Waker, but hey, you can't expect handheld games to do everything console games can.

If you think the DS is so retarded then why even bother having one at all?

There's one thing Nintendo has done with just about every official Mario and Zeld game: They try something new. New SMB DS was basically like Mario 3 with new levels and powerup abilities. New SMB Wii added simultaneous co-op.

For Spirit Tracks, the staff you get in the Sand Temple makes for some very cool puzzle design (and brain twisting, too, when you're using it in the Tower of Spirits) and I like the twists on escort/stealth missions. Such as when you have to escort Zelda out of the castle and she's the one you have to keep the guards from noticing, or the Wallmasters who guard the Boss Keys in the Tower of Spirits. I would say the Tower of Spirits has some of the toughest puzzles EVER for a Zelda game, and let us remember that the original Zelda game didn't have any proper "puzzles" beyond a few boss tricks and the actual labyrinths themselves.
I want a REAL Zelda game.
Define plz.
Define plz.
The original on NES, ALTTP, OOC, TP, Oracle games, minish cap, even wind waker qualifies.
you can't expect handheld games to do everything console games can.
i know this, but Game Boy Seemed to pull it off just fine..
If you think the DS is so retarded then why even bother having one at all?
I don't have one, i just use my brothers to play Castlevania and Mega Man.
Phantom Hourglass was not "horrible" in any objective measure.
Well then that's your opinion. I wholly accept that. my opinion is that it was a terrible game. and i will not be changing it just because it's different from yours.
and let us remember that the original Zelda game didn't have any proper "puzzles" beyond a few boss tricks and the actual labyrinths themselves.
Because the original was more balanced then some other Zelda games, maybe a little more focused on the action then the puzzle solving. Every game is ballanced differently to appeal to a certain type of player. some people, like you, enjoy solving complex puzzles and defeating bosses in an interesting way. others, like myself, like running around killing things and finding new items and expansive exploration. The main reason I dislike Phantom Hourglass/Spirit tracks is because I dont really like the touch e=screen concept and the stories are rather boring to me. i like the simple old ganons back go kill him. be there several subplots involving Imps and a wolf then so be it. But a train and having an etheral Zelda follow you around just seems silly to me.

What i'm trying to say is you don't have to get all worked up because I don't like a game that you do.

I forgot to add that comparing PH to WW sometimes I did kinda miss the seamlessness of WW where you could sail right off to that island in the distance and swim ashore with no overt loading screens interrupting the action.
i know this, but Game Boy seemed to pull it off just fine..
May as well have been a clone of LTTP without Ganon serving his role as central antagonist.

Speaking of Ganon, let's recall that in both LTTP and TP Ganon wasn't even introduced until halfway through the game.
The main reason I dislike Phantom Hourglass/Spirit tracks is because I dont really like the touch screen concept and the stories are rather boring to me.
So story opinions aside, you'd rather have a Zelda DS that doesn't even use the touch screen? You'd have a Zelda game that is even more formulaic in execution and lacking any reason to be put on the DS in the first place?

Contrary to popular belief, Nintendo isn't an idiot.

only reason PH and Sp exist is to have Zelda games on DS. it's one of the Nintendo icons, so it has to be.

And they designed it around the DS's unique selling points.

I didn't like Phantom Hourglass either, but I agree that it would be useless to sell a DS game without using the features it was designed for, such as the microphone and touch screen.
