BTW I am going to be working on several different poses for my design for potential incorperation into possible layout scheme changes.

You draw dogs...how can it be that difficult.

Shorten the snout pointy up the ears and make'em smaller...it's a start.

Some people don't even know about Sam because they recently joined.

P; What happens if people don't want the mascot to change? What if they like it the way it is? Should we have a "Keep the pherel the way it is" option or do they have no choice but to choose a new mascot?

Whenever Denis decides to make a new layout, keep the current one we have now as a skin option if people don't like the new mascot. Some people are actually using the old FAC skin because they don't like the current Pheral so I see why not.

Well here is my preliminary doodle....in my hurry I forgot the tufts of hair on top of the head and the points of the ears and possible some others but for a quick sketch....

Same as the original, no reason to change the color that I can think of.

That design needs to be cleaned up some I was kinda rushing cuz I have some other work that needs doing.

New designs of Pheral:

1.: Just a generic half-assed cat I drew.

2.: Resembles the ancient Egyptian cat breed, this incorporates styles of the original Pheral as well as Looney Toons.

3.: More cute-sy, anime/manga style.

4.: Somewhat of a revamp of the old Pheral.

I think I colored mine too grey. Sad

Your color scheme pretty much matches the original Pheral, and it's awesome to see it colored.

I cheated.....I just used the dropper tool in photodraw and sucked the color straight from the original

I'll take that into consideration for future improvements to the polls.

I think using the polls for this would be a great idea as well. As for the options, all of the ones Edward posted should be fine, unless we come up with other ideas for the mascot.
And for kicks and giggles I'd like to actually see a "Cat-boy/girl" option as well.
