Usually a sequal can never step up to the original when it comes to games and movies too.

As for this game, can it stand up to DMC itself along with other heavy weight game legends?

It's far better than any 3d Action Game, gameplay wise, save DMC3.

Just curious, what other games can it stand up to?
(No not being negative here, this game looks like it can kick some serious ass and wondering if it can go down in history along with the blood omen, metal gear, and DMC series xP)

Blood Omen and Metal Gear aren't action games.

It's better that DMC4, Ninja Gaiden 2, Dante's Inferno and GoWIII (Judging by demos, which are unlikely to cahnge)

Say what you want but the first blood omen, Soul reaver, soul reaver 2, and legacy of kain: defiance were some of the best damn games of their time IMO xP

Yes but people dont cringe when they hear the name like they do with sonic and tomb raider.

Also people, including a few magazines I have read (Playstation, tips and tricks, Gamefaq) still praise FF7 as one of the best rpgs of all time.

So yeah shush, blood omen didnt become a cash cow like tomb raider and sonic TRIED to do. It ended with Legacy of Kain and STAYED ended.

Bayonetta, I wonder how they are going to top this IF they have a sequal?

Oh wow insulting ff7 im soooooo offended. Yeah nice try im not your typical fangirl. I for one am tired too of all the whoring of FF7. the movie was ok and so was the game (Crisis core). That doesnt mean they are going to stand up to the original. In my opinion they should have just stopped at the movie because of losers like you coming along and whining about the game being whored out. OH WOW They want to answer all the unsolved questions of FF7, quick deny square enix this right because they arent allowed to have freedom of actions over the games they direct!

Platinum/Clover makes great games, but they don't make games that sell well. This is why Capcom liquidated them

Viewtiful Joe bombed because it had no advertising, was hard as balls, and was Gamecube only game for a while (Which is a fucking death sentence in and of itself)

Okami, again, had no advertising, and was pretty much a Zelda game, which had to compete with Twilight Princess when it was released (Which it was far better than. By a lot.)

God Hand had no budget, no advertising, no nothing. It was set to fail from day one. Despite that, it's one of the most fucking awesome games made this decade.

Post Liquidation, we've got

Madword. Bloody Hack N' Slash on the Wii. No one but fucking soccer moms owns a Wii, and doesn't know how to pirate for it, so it got pirated to shit and back and sold next to nothing.

Additionally, Platinum/Clover members directed Resident Evil 0,1,2,4, Devil May Cry, and Dino Crisis

Platinum Games/Clover is the chemo curing the pathetic, cancer infested shithole we call the modern game development scene

Until you get your OWN magazine, dont complain about another one when some people do read it. (I prefer playstation and tips and tricks myself.)

Also will Bayonetta be remembered just as much as DMC? And who is better when it comes to gameplay, DMC or Bayonetta?
