We are about to engage in a months long marathon of non-documentary war-related movies. I'm not sitting through "Gone With the Wind," "Lawrence of Arabia," or "Ben-Hur" again. Mostly not looking for anything made before the 60s, stuff not in English, or Star Wars. [i]What am I missing?[/i]

I wouldn't say Lord of the Flies is a war movie. Do you mean the first or the second one? I've seen the old one before (back in school). Was alright.

The Counterfeiters (Die Fälscher) - German movie, about Jewish counterfeiters in concentration camps forced to counterfeit British pound and American dollar during the late stages of WWII, true story.

The Pianist (lol, Roman Polanski)

Enemy at the Gates - The only genuinely pro-Soviet WWII movie I've seen.

The Reds - The only genuinely pro-Soviet October Revolution movie I've seen.

The Tin Drum - Another German movie, banned in Oklahoma, based on a book that I own that I can never get through BECAUSE IT'S TOO LONG.

Persepolis (not the second one, the first one deals with Iran-Iraq war)

Seven Years in Tibet (Chinese invasion of Tibet in 1959)

The Killing fields (Third Indochina war)

Au revoir les enfants - French movie, on WWII

Suicidal level:

War and Peace, Russian, extremely rare, 8 hours.

The Birth of a nation, American, 1915, 3 hours.

I've actually seen Birth of a Nation, but in fast forward, 'cause it was silent anyway.

Verrryyy good movies, glad im not the only one whom enjoys these movies. :3 kudos to those who mentioned them.

Here's another, I've seen this movie soo many times (Thanks to mother) I know the damn dialogue by heart. xD

-gasp- Im not the only one whom has seen MASH? =O (I watch the show when it's on too, Klinger cracks me up when he cross dresses and Hawkeye rules.)

What's up with all the surprisingly helpful responses?

List updated. Some things were left out because they didn't sound interesting, I've seen them recently, I've seen them too many times (Casablanca, Monty Python), or they were just really, really dull the first time around. Like Tora! Tora! Tora! Seriously. People like that movie?
