Niger has had a rather severe regime change, after a military coup ousting President Tandja, notorious for violating the constitution of Niger allowing him to stay in office past his term, occurred on February 18th. Currently being detained in the presidential palace he will eventually stand trial. |

It seems to me that, that kind of apathy ensures that the cycle of violence will continue.
In other news Iran is planning on building new Uranium enrichment facilities much to the displeasure of the U.N. and America. In a televised speech,Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad sent a warning to any country that would attack Iran.
While he has said that Iran has no plans to pursue nuclear weapons, many world leaders are still fearful.
"Our enemies can deal a blow to us any time they wish. They did not wait for permission to do this. They do not deal a blow with prior notice. They do not take action because they can't."
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
I say the U.S. should keep up it's efforts to sanction Iran, effectively antagonizing the country. Just give me a heads up so I can move to France or some french part of Canada. |

Any country would be stupid not to develop nukes.
There is a reason the US invaded harmless little Iraq. They don't have the balls to attack a country that can fight back.
Also, since when have sanctions seriously accomplished anything? US has had serious sanctions against Cuba for how many years now? I don't see anything changing there. Doesn't seem to have done anything to seriously harm Iran either. _________________ You will obey or molten silver will be poured into your ears. |

You know sometimes, things politicians say are just blown out of proportion. Nowadays a republican merely has to mention race and his comment is branded offensive. This is not the case in this instance, I seriously wonder what that man was thinking when he said that (you know what will make people listen to me... Slavery!)
and conservatives wonder why they can't attract African Americans to their party. |

at Texas Textbooks, WTF! "the accomplishments of Ronald Regan". [expletive] Ronald Regan, Free market my @$$!
alright let's look at this rationally, judeo-christian values may have offered a lot of good, but groups like the Ku-Klux Clan had religious groundings, or is that burning cross just a coincidence? Are you teaching children about that in Texas along with (pfft), "Ronald Regan's accomplishments"?
and on the lesbian prom date, religious beliefs are not an excuse for discrimination. in fact you deserve more condemnation for being so two faced. you can love thy neighbor and profess to hate their lifestyle, who knew? |

catholic schools aren't exactly religious schools in American sense. They are still required to teach certain things, even though they have a different board.
Public school system in Canada used to be the Protestant school board. I've been to Catholic schools before for debates, they had paintings of Jesus there, but looked fairly normal. _________________

That map thing is pretty cool. They should have one on every crime story. _________________ ゚ ヮ゚ |

http://www.latimes.com/features/health/la-na-backlash26-2010mar26,0,370322.story
"A call to New York Democrat Louise M. Slaughter said snipers would "kill the children of the members who voted for health care reform." Later, a brick smashed a window at her Niagara Falls district office."
That's actually pretty scary, and not like face book poll to kill Obama scary, more like catcher in the rye fueled assassination of John Lennon scary. and I know I shouldn't find this funny but her last name is Slaughter. kind of ironic... |
