With the exception of die hard Mac users...Most of us have experienced an "MS WinFlop" such as the most recent Vista, or like myself...the old ME...or...even both!
Since I have recently purchased a new laptop, and I can't afford a Mac, I had no choice but to go Win7...Question is...Is it going to be successful like XP, or old 2K...or is it doomed?
...I'm fine with what I see, thus far...but I'm taking it day by day...
Any "faults or issues" anyone may have..I suppose you can put it here... |

I've been using windows 7 for quite a while now, and I haven't noticed a single problem. It is both "pretty" and stable.
All of the applications I need and use run just fine. I use this computer for all of my media needs, as well as a good portion of my development needs. This version of Windows is turning out to be very versatile, and really easy to use. Automatic updates have support for way more software and hardware now than ever, and the system doesn't feel as bloated, despite being a larger overall installation than XP was.
I would recommend you get a 64 bit system; 32 bit systems are starting to hit their limits. So you can buy a 64bit system and it will be more powerful, and will probably last you longer so you wont need to upgrade as soon. Although if you happen to play (much)older games, some of them may not work due to no support for anything that is programmed in 16 bit.
Windows 7 is probably one of the better, if not best, versions of Windows I've seen roll out of Microsoft. Like I said, its pretty, and easy to use; essentially the acclaimed Mac experience for much less price and hassle! |
