Brianhjh: "Also, Bankai. Everywhere."

This phrase is hillarious, I don't know why, but it is. Thats what bleach is about, much like super saiyan was an excuse to dramatize "powering up", bankai is very much the same. Bleach is succesful despite being mindless and not having impressive art, it offers this complex world by not doing anything at all, it does this by being very vague and offering up *Bankai* to keep us distracted. So... yeah.
pretty much true of most manga/anime they nearly all have some vague concept of energy/power or powering up that makes no freakin sense.

its like they take concepts of magic or chi and they gotta rename it
to make them feel unique, then give a long back story about how its
differs from magic or other similar concepts.
its sorta like the mystic version of techno babble
(they just say a bunch of crazy stuff and hope we wont think about it further)

i have never read the manga of bleach but i have seen some of the anime
and when they gotta show there characters drawing on paper to show
other characters and the audience the basic concepts of the show, that
shows that its way more complicated than it needs to be.
well thats what i think anyway.

Sad but true, originality is becoming a thing of the past nowadays with most tv shows and games...-le sigh-

You remember Yu Yu hakusho? They tried to explaind things up to a point, I was watching an episode with a friend, the tournament for Genkai's power and there was a point where the Villain was giving a very detailed explanation of his weapon. But his long exposition was just stupid, my friend was like, "why doesn't he just kill him now, while he doesn't understand how the thing works?"

I'll answer you're question when I'm done powering up. Hold on.
