My interest in Hetalia lies solely in the history/culture of the countries; the fact that they have a physical design just makes it easier to troll/satirize certain countries (LOLOLOL AMERICA) ~~when i rp~~

It wasn't this way before, but when I first got into it, there weren't any scanlations.

Hmm, well... The original plot of the comic was centered around WW1/WW2? I can't say I know much about Italy (other than FASCISM!@!1 lolol mussolini) during those periods, though.

I think modern Italy is pretty new. It just merged together about a century ago or something. I don't know. I knew this stuff in high school and then promptly forgot all of it. orz

I've never taken a world history class in high school (my loss 8( ), but I think that sounds about right?
