No Im just used to tekken, where I pull off 12-20 hit combos that dont involve energy balls or seizure inducing techno light shows.

Tekken combos are pretty much easy mode, once you figure out your characters primary launcher, effective ground relaunches, and wall combos, it's just learning to effectively juggle based on height.

MvC2 combos were generally incredibly situational, and required a lot of knowledge of hitboxes (IE, Strider and Storm have infinites that only work on Sent's giant hitbox, various other things), and vary by enemy health, assists in play, assists in wait, assist health, enemy health, ect

It's a far better move to try to Snap out Sent if you are Mags and he calls a Storm assist, and then relaunch Storm to death. However if it's something Like Strider calling in Doom, and you have the opportunity, you want to go into jump > dfad > d.LK > ROM or some shit, just because killing Strider effectively cripples a Strider/Doom team.

Why would you be able to sidestep in a 2d fighter?

I know, to lazy to edit my post. lol... ya

But what you were saying about the assists, I get it but I guess its just me. The 2D fighters have so much going on during a fight, I prefer to focus on 1 character and 1 enemy.

I play the KoF series though, so I understand the mechanics, in case you misunderstood otherwise.

Assists are easy to deal with, bro. They basically just act like a safe Anti-Air, as well as usually something for traps (IE, Doom's Rocks assist) or something to force someone onto the defensive (Sent's Ground Assist)

Once you realize that they almost always be in play, just learn to snap out their point, and then relaunch assists to death. Mags is great for that.

Honestly, the hardest thing about MvC2 is wrapping your head around every little thing in it's engine. It's just full to the brim with weird shit.

Joo touches on it a lot

MvC3 currently has two supposedly leaked rosters floating around. Take both with a grain of salt.
