December is rolling around, and we know what that means! Christmas! Presents! Empty wallets! And FAC's official 2011 Christmas Contest!

[b]Details:[/b]
- [b][color=red]Christ[/color][color=green]mas[/color][/b] themed contest
- This contest's scoring guidelines will rely more heavily on Skill than Creativity, so get your pencils sharpened!
- I will advertise the official contest theme around December 15, 2011 on the main site, forums, and on my own profile
- [b]Prize:[/b]
1. Posting the winner on the site news (this will be an alternative to those who still do not completely qualify for featured pictures or are too new to be popular)
2. Official 2011 Christmas Contest Winner Badge to be put on profile and winning picture description

We have until about [b]December 3, 2011[/b] to give me some interesting Christmas contest theme ideas for the official 2011 Christmas Contest! I will only take [size=20]10[/size] idea slots.

How about fun in the snow? like you or your OCs or fav anime/game/any media based canon characters running about in the snow building snowmen, forts, or having snowball fights or making snow angels?

That or who would you want waiting under the mistletoe? xP

That mistletoe idea is adorable! I put it on the list as "Who's under the mistletoe?" I am probably just sappy and romantic for Chirstimas, that's all. ;-;

The snow premise is nice, but the favorite OCs/anime game/any media characters being apart of it is too similar to the previous theme. Lets put in some different theme choices than the last one so we will not risk repetitive themes, no matter how popular they are.

Hmmm let's seeeee, how abouuuuut:
Probly not as popular as the others, but maybe new costume designs or takes on Santa's famous red suit? You know, kinda like how they put a gothic spooky twist on it with Sora's santa suit in KH2 Final mix?

"Make your own variation of the santa outfit?" That sounds too specific, since it is concentrating on designing a certain outfit for only one part (Santa) of Christmas. Nah!

Hows about, "The most important thing in Christmas is ___." ;-; I imagine a picture of an impoverished family having the time of their lives with a small dinner and no Christmas tree on Christmas day, and another rich family's son getting angry at his parents for not getting him enough presents. Then again, not everyone will choose meaningful pictures like that for this theme...

thats some random ideas that popped into my head. Soory i'm not too good at coming up with themes.

The Santa Clause Ambush sounds interesting. What do you mean by ambush? The "All I want for christmas is...?" idea is already similar to our theme "If you could have anything for Christmas, what would it be?" The rest of the ideas seem too specific.

;-; If I put up a theme saying, "What Christmas really means to me," would people see that as a meaningful theme or would they just see it as a boringly phrased theme? It may be the lather...

I have another idea! Hows about, "If I was Santa Clause, how would I run my Christmas?"

santas clause ambush;...I don't know really. the idea of ambushign santa clause to steal all his presents suddenly came into my head. maybe artist could draw some of their characters or characters from anime/manga/videogames/others.

personally when I think of santas clause ambush and anime/manga, All I can picture is Edward Elric smuggling christmas preasants away from santas factory, while santa is all tied up in a corner, pleading fro ed to come back.

...hee hee, I don't know where tha tidea came from, but if that is one of the themes, that is probably what I willl do.

was that a too ellaborate of an explanation?

here In new zealand we never get a white christams Sad

it sucks and the only places it does snow are Mt ruapehu but that's in june to august <:C

P; Nah to the anime/manga/videogames part. If we word it like "Draw your favorite anime/manga/game etc. chracters ambushing Santa!" it would sound too similar to the previous Halloween Contest theme. We could just leave it as a vague theme and say, "Ambush Santa! Take what you want and run!" That could leave enough leeway for ideas. P;

That could work! I put it in. Not many people are good at drawing houses and background though, but it is still neat. You could draw a lot for a house...I guess!

Hows about, "You spend Christmas with your love. What is it like?" That may be a little sappy though...

hmm i'm Jewish don't celebrate it but i like the season of it what about dress an official character or an oc as Santa can be couples or alone and see what ensues

yeah thats waht I meant. just ambush Santa, and then allow the artists to create what comes into their mind.

You do not wake up early to get Christmas presents under the tree? THAT'S TERRIBLE. Crying or Very sad

That idea is plain since it just concentrates on characters and the generic Santa Claus outfit. We already have, "You're Santa! How would you run your Christmas?" so it still has parts of your theme in there.

Scenery is not for everyone, but that idea can be incorporated into a previous theme. I changed #5 to: You decorated the best Christmas house [i]and yard[/i] in the world! What does it look like?

What about a more different theme like: "Your mom and dad are near bankruptcy, and they cannot afford Christmas presents. What do you do to make up for it on Christmas?"

actually 4 and 7 are really different. 4 is more of a specific theme that you have to somewhat follow. 7 is more of a do what comes into your mind kind of idea.

When celebrating Christmas, some families put a plant called the "mistletoe" on the door or somewhere high. Anyone under the mistletoe would traditionally feel obligated to kiss. It is a fun romantic/silly Christmas custom. People can draw really funny pictures for that! Wink

"You're Santa Clause! How do you want your Christmas to be run?" means to have a character or you be Santa Claus. You draw a picture of how you would run your Christmas. You could make it a big present success or a big catastrophe.
"Ambush Santa!" means a moment where you/your characters attack Santa Claus and take his presents/reindeer/SOMETHING. It would be a funny picture to see what you really value if you could take anything from Santa. A little crude, but fun enough!

Thus, yes, they are different.

I put your awkward idea up. Sounds fun! The Christmas at school idea will not work though. We are not very sympathetic of a theme that never happens. ;-; If school happened on Christmas, I would boycott the school, lol.
