AN EASIER WAY TO FIND USERS

So, is it just me...or is it difficult to find peoples profiles unless you're already friends with them in some way. Why cant you click someones profile from the forums and go to their artist page. Well, I suppose you can if you can find them in the threads, but when you use the memberlist it takes FOREVER to get to someone and if you click on a most recent account created at the bottom, it just loads thir mini-profile thing, along with the people that are currently online at the bottom.

ya Im aware of that denis. Like for example if I wanted to find...um, stratadrake for example id have to click the highest number available in the next number thing for a while to finnaly find him in there.

That's an old hack denis made to phpbb2.

I think I see what you're getting at though: On the phpbb2 "Memberlist" page, it would be convenient to hack in an extra column with that user's mainsite profile page. Likewise, when you're viewing a user's forum profile sheet, an extra row with a link to their FAC mainsite profile would be convenient too.

phpBB's memberlist page is pretty useless with 3,500+ pages of names. Not designed to scale to 100,000+ members FAC has.

A link in the profile sheet wouldn't be so bad, but since most places that have profile links (forum posts) also have direct links to the user on the site it doesn't really seem that useful.

Basically what Strata said. Sorry it didnt come off as clear as I wanted. I have a hard time turning thoughts into words sometimes. And ive tried searching users with the search engine and it doesnt really work.

Yes. By all means the "view profile" forum page should link to a user's main profile page. How about hyperlinking the avatar?

Or the lil button in the corner of the person's post that says 'profile' maybe we could have that lead to the Main pro page instead of just their info on the forum. Oo

Hyper-linking the main site profile from the avatar is a simple, good idea. We already have that for the main-site, so we might as well have the same for the forums.

Ya, that'd be cool. Im not a web designer but from what little I know on that particular subject it shouldnt be hard.

Dennis how many people do you have on here that actually make changes like this to the site? Or at least can help?
