Battlefield 3: A step in the right direction.

This game is a must have in my opinion for people who enjoy first-person shooters such as Black Ops. It almost reminds me of what Counterstrike was aiming for, but they actually did good at it.

By that what I mean is this game isn't all graphics and poor engines, you'll notice immediately that the graphics are worst than the Call of Duty series games. Some may see this as a bad thing, but I think this is an excellent sign from Dice. Why? Because sacrificing some of the game's visual quality for a better quality game in general is a terrific decision and I love it. The game character's are still good quality, for sure, but you can clearly see some problems like specifically with the eyes, and maybe even the head formation in general in some scenes. But by knocking the quality of it all down, we gained destructable terrain, numerous vehicles, and tons more.

The weapons and interface of this game are great in my opinion, most notably I found the weapons were what really made the game so much more realitistic compared to all of the other FPS games I play. They actually have echoes and realitistic impacts of soundwaves when you fire an AK47 in an open city. You literaly hear the echo fade like it was going blocks away, and not only that, you have the same effect when the enemy shoots. THIS IS PERFFFECT!! In games like Modern Warfare I was always frustraited when I hear someone shooting, and I'm not sure whether to look behind, front, or to my sides. It had some effect, but generally it all sounded the same. With this,
1. You can easily track snipers down, instantly making the Surpressor much more effective and mandatory.

2. This raises sense, not only for this game, but just in general. Being able to hear and know which way to look which very fast reaction time and accuracy is an amazing attribute to acquire from a video game.

3. The radar will no longer be the main focus and way to detect and hunt down opponents who shoot. - This is a common reason why I do bad at times with a lot of FPS. Looking in the corner, and then down my sites again. Though my vision is that bad, making my center source of accuracy (the middle of my screen) my peripheral vision isn't exactly the easy thing when reacting.
[/list:u]

The voice acting I will admit was a bit mediocre, but maybe that's what they were aiming for exactly with this game. Looking back at Modern Warfare 2 and its campaign, do you really think that a General would speak perfectly and dramatically like it does? I highly doubt it, and it doesn't seem like it at all reflecting back on movies too. This though it does lower game quality to an extent by reducing suspese does add to what I feel they were trying for with this game; being realitistic.

This game also implemented a system that I find rather interesting; to access multiplayer you need to pay $10.00 on the PSN network IF you did not use your code that was inside the case to automatically unlock it.

So essentially, if I tried giving you the game, you would need to pay for it too. While this is an interesting way of doing things, what I feel it is, isn't something to prevent piracy or stealing, etc. But merely a marketing strategy to get them more money, and I dare say its a genius technique. It makes it where more people are going to buy the game in stores, rather than used (so they won't have to pay the 10 bucks) and people buying it used will have to find out the hard way that if they want to play online they'll have to also pay 10 bucks.

Overall, a fantastic game in my opinion.

false... Battlefield 3 has the best graphics of any game to date. For PC. If you are going to compare graphics you need to look at them on the best system and on the highest settings. In this case, for this game, its PC...and on MAX settings... it is unrivaled.

Battlefield 3 on PC> All shooters
Battlefield 3 on Console=CoD graphics
CoD on PC(max settings) > Console shooters

terrible PR move.

I'm not referring to graphics for PCs for clarity, moot point. (PS3 in this case)

Besides, there's much more that comes into consideration with the graphics than settings. Like I said, quality; which comes down to the shape and depicture of them along with the quality of the textures to follow them. Which I personally feel as I described, BF3 wasn't as on par with. Compared to even MW2 I think they're not even comparable.

You should either be more patient...get a faster computer, or only hit submit once. Cool
settings. Like I said, quality; which comes down to the shape and depicture of them along with the quality of the textures
uh ya...play BF3 on Ultra settings on a gaming rig and then talk to me about textures. Wink

But as far as the people actually look. Well, thats just up to the individual and im not too worried about 5'0clock shadow or eye color realism when im being shot at.

If that comment was at all directed at me, it should be clear that I don't care about that either. Like I said in the original post at the sacrifice of the graphics being slightly worst in my opinion it was a very good development choice that I think seperates this game from MW3 and other new ones.

Then you brought up PC settings and this that sideways.

you were talking about overall graphics I assumed.

Either way...CoD is a tired series while battlefield remains fresh.

True enough there, though I still enjoy them both.
