Why is the site censoring my Story

I have set the language level on my story to moderate profanity, and one of my characters says the Sh-- word, but the site censors it anyways to shoot. (chapter 8 of "Things left undone")

Just wondering why, and if possible, to get the site to stop doing it.

The word censors are only in effect for users (readers) who have them on in their profile settings ("Enable Word filter" setting).

I think they were more intended for stuff like comments than stories and are probably there mostly as a side effect of the fact that stories use the same BB code processing as everything else.

Strata, IIRC you are the one who built the word filter stuff. I'll leave it for you to comment further on this.

Thanx, I hadn't noticed the word filter checkbox in the sites main profile settings.

Maybe moving it up there to the content censor selections?

Wordcensors are indeed performed as part of the bbCode processing (default setting is "enabled") so if you have the your word filtering profile option switched on then [i]everything[/i] gets censored, independent of what it is (story text/comments/pictures/journals/profile text/etc.), who submitted it (you/someone else) and whether or not it's already tagged as having mature content.
