Official 2013 St. Patty's Day Contest Notice

[b][size=22]CONTEST: Design a St. Patrick's Day outfit for your favorite characters, OCs, or yourself![/size][/b]

[b][size=18]Deadline: [color=green]March 31st, 2013[/color][/size][/b]

[b][size=18]Theme:[/size][/b] St. Patrick's Day marks one of the strangest but most fun holidays of the year. It represents one of the very few instances in which we can pinch our friends over something so trivial as their clothing, and thus this contest was born! Deck yourself (or whoever you feel would look awesome in green) in a St. Patty's Day outfit of your design!

[b][size=18]Rules:[/size][/b]
1. Only [b]1[/b] submission per user
2. When March 31, 2013 12:00 AM passes, submissions are closed for the contest. We do not take late work, no matter how good you are.
3. No explicit sexuality/violence. Some nudity is ok, but don't make it too explicit -- Any questions can be directed to me or Luckylace as to what can and cannot be accepted.

[b][size=18]Scoring Guidelines:[/b][/size]
[b]Skill:[/b] 40 points
- You can use crafts, digital mediums, traditional mediums(etc.) to express this theme, but you need skill to make it look good! Whatever style you work with, whether anime or realism, make it synchronize with your idea, and your skill will inevitably show.

[b]Creativity:[/b] 30 points
- St. Patrick's Day greatly limits the colors we can use in our art, what will get you the most points for this contest is how creative you can use your limited color pallet!

[b]Lighting:[/b] 20 points
- Lighting can be used crucially in terms of greens and can really bring out the verdant flash that a green can bring.

[b]Colors:[/b] 10 points
- St. Patrick's Day is all about the green. While it is the most commonly associated color with the holiday, it does not mean you are simply limited to it. Get creative!

[b]1st Place:[/b]
-Putting your winning picture on the site news/main-page (this will be an alternative to those who still do not completely qualify for featured pictures or are too new to be popular)
- Specialized 2012 Autumn Equinox Contest Winner badge that you can put on your profile

Oh boy, what's up everyone? I know I've been pretty lacking on the forum posts and artwork as of late and I apologize. Life is catching up to me in the most brutal fashion. In any case, I am proud to announce that Fanart-Central will be hosting a St. Patrick's Day contest as the first (I think) official contest with the 2013 label on it!

St. Patty's Day! Who doesn't love to dress up in green clothes and pinch people who have forgotten to do so! It's a friendly time of year and a great opportunity to express ourselves in the most ridiculous of fashions, from leprechauns to endless rainbows!

Contest staff (meaning myself and luckylace) will be accepting your contest ideas for the next week (ending next Wednesday). Your input -- as always -- is greatly appreciated!

You, your Oc's or just your favorite characters are all together at a party, draw the funny/weird/ crazy things that happen during the party. IE a friend gets drunk and starts trying to scuba dive int he fish tank ,ect.

Hummm Well leprechauns are known to be tricksters and such, right? Sooo maybe something like:

A leprechaun has stole something from you or an oc, what is it and how do you get it back.

Or How do you trick the leprechaun into giving you it's pot of gold.

I love how for almost every contest theme notice, there has to be a [drunk] party idea. YOU REBELLIOUS/DUMB KIDS! One day, that theme will be chosen, and it will be hard to draw! To make that more St. Patrick's Day realted, hows about we say "You get drunk, and you strangely find yourself in the midst of drunk Irish people. What happens?"

I like this idea! "A leprechaun has stolen something the most important from you! What is it?" I took out the "how do you get it back" because that may take a lot to express in a a picture. However, you can add it in. It is your idea!

Hows about "If you find a lucky four-leaf clover, what would you concentrate all the luck on?" I want to make another good theme suggestion about shamrocks, but I cannot think of one...

Some of my ideas:
More outfit-driven theme: "What is the most St. Patrick's Day-spirited outfit you would wear?"

A more artistic theme: "Draw a monchromatic picture of anything using only the color green."

I LOVE YOU. Of course you would think of something so unbearably childish. I am forcing ShadowFalcon to accept this idea. Lets make it more obvious by saying: "Where's me pot o' gold? (Draw a picture where the viewer must search for the pot of gold!)

I have not heard of the wish; I just hear that you get a rich pot of gold.

We could go for a "You have successfully got the pot of gold and shillelagh (after beating up the leprechaun)! What do you do with the money and shillelagh? OR "Many people picture the St. Patrick leprechaun as a short, hyper, pointy-eared man in a green suit! What is your own version of this Irish fairy?"

Good ideas so far, people!

Now, ust for fun, here is 2011 Miss Ireland Holly Carpenter and 2010 Miss Universe Ireland promoting Dubliner Irish Whiskey Liqueur!

That is actually not a bad idea. I have thought about having guest judges from the database of contest winners. Since shadowfalcon is faciliatitng this contest, the next contest will most likely be done by me, and I will ask for a guest judge to help judge.

Also, if you guys have not noticed, the St, Patrick's Day poll has started!
