What is the truth? How do we know it's the truth, and not a lie told to us? How do we know wether or not the truth is a lie?

Truth is a relative concept. Truth can be a factual point that is able to be backed up with evidence. At the same time it is a matter of common accepted opinion.(e.g. The belief the world was flat in olden days was considered truth because it was a matter of common majority opinion)Is truth always actually right? No. For a reference see above example. A truth is considered true only until it can be disproved once it is disprove it is a mis truth or lie. One can not always discern the truth. A person may appear fine and say they are fine, but actually be lousy. So a second person may define the truth is that the person is fine even though it is inaccurate to that person his belief is still true as he finds nothing to disprove it. So truth is not always definable or correct. _________________ I'm not crazy, I wear the straight jacket as a fashion statement. Do you like it? The voices said it looked good on me!

Truth is relevant. The version of the truth depends on who is telling it. A murderer in prison could say that he is telling the truth when he killed his daughter in self defence after she charged him with a knife or whatever. For all we know the daughter could be saying the truth when she says her dad killed her for going up to him asking him to cut something with the knife.

There is no "THE truth." There is only A truth.
There is no absolute truth, except in mathematics. Obviously 2+2=4.
To know THE absolute truth, you must explore every inch of the Universe and every moment of time. Or even infinity (if such a thing exists) itself. _________________ ★الله★أَكْبَر★ |

well it depends on whos point of view it is
if you thought it was true and said it was true then it's true. to another person it may be wrong but to you it is true and that's what matters |

Truth does not exist, because it is largely based on perception. If you are told your whole life that green was blue, and blue was green, then you hold a perception of the world that differs from everyone else. The truth cannot exist as long as you accept that others exist in your perception of reality. |

Wise is the man who seeks to find the truth, but wiser yet is the man who cast down illusions, then the truth is made bare.
Truth branches from belief. What you see as true speaks largely about what you believe as a whole. Ask not what is truth, ask what it is that you believe. _________________ Knock on the sky and listen to the sound. |
