|
|
I'm new here as an active member though I have been lurking awhile. but with the closure of storm I am trying to learn how to use this site and not finding it easy to find my way around.
is there a user guide for beginners?
is there a mentorship program? [if there's not a mentorship program can we start one I'd love to help with that]
is there a provision for creating groups of people with common interests?
on storm I could create community projects and features on the front page and was able to use that feature to help enliven the community...is there anything like that available here?
who are the staff of this site [is there a link to a page listing the currently active staff] and to what degree are we as beginning community members encouraged to communicate them?
is any sort of unofficial community building allowed or encouraged, if so what and how [such as groups on DA or storm, or community projects and new posts on storm]
if not that, what is the best way to help build community here? by build I don't mean increase membership I mean uplift inspire interact encourage unite inform etc? |

1) Most of website guidelines are here http://forums.fanart-central.net/viewforum.php?f=61
2) I haven't seen mentorship programs nor interest groups, but perhaps some forum topics may work instead of those.
3) I know Stratadrake, cstdenis and Battou are admins - here http://forums.fanart-central.net/groupcp.php?g=150893 you can contact them about abuses.
4) As for community, it's not as organized as on dA, though it's still possible to find people you may find interesting. Myself, I've managed to meet couple of decent people here and establish friendly relationships with them. |

Teejay, has listed all the active admins, I'll also mention that there is also Shadowfalcon (head staff of the Approval Panel), though they haven't been active since September...
As for your other questions;
[quote="Jadis"]is there a user guide for beginners?[/quote]
^Teejay provided a link to Guidelines and Policies but, here's also the [url=http://forums.fanart-central.net/viewforum.php?f=34]FAQ[/url]. Though if none of this answers what your looking for always asking how to do or what to do or anything you don't know or understand goes under 'General Help' (as you obviously know as you posted this there.)
There is also the [url=http://forums.fanart-central.net/viewforum.php?f=2]Testing Area[/url] here in the forums if you wanted to test things such as: "[i]avatars, signatures, polls, images, bbCode formatting, or so on.[/i]"
[quote="Jadis"]on storm I could create community projects and features on the front page and was able to use that feature to help enliven the community...is there anything like that available here? [/quote]
^There is nothing like this on here. Though it wouldn't hurt to [url=http://forums.fanart-central.net/viewforum.php?f=15][i]suggest such a feature[/i][/url].
[quote="Jadis"]is any sort of unofficial community building allowed or encouraged, if so what and how [such as groups on DA or storm, or community projects and new posts on storm][/quote]
^The only thing I can really thing of for unofficial community building wise is holding unofficial contests in the [url=http://forums.fanart-central.net/viewforum.php?f=6]'Contest thread'[/url].
[quote="TeeJay87"][quote="Jadis"]is there a mentorship program? [if there's not a mentorship program can we start one I'd love to help with that]

^This. But, as I've said you may always [url=http://forums.fanart-central.net/viewforum.php?f=15][i]suggest such a feature[/i][/url].
