Does fan-poetry count as "story" for the purpose of writing submissions, or is poetry not allowed to be in personal portfolio space?

Short answer - yes. However, since the story submission system is designed to accommodate longer (serial/chapterized) stories, how to submit one-shot writings or poetry is ... left a bit up in the air.

You can submit it as a single chapter story, or have one "story" that is a collection of your poems (one per chapter).

is there any possibility of imperfections like that getting corrected? or have the people creating this site just stopped adding and correcting things which are incomplete? [I'm not complaining, I'm just wondering so I know where to make suggestions or refrain from annoying by making suggestions which are unwanted]

Currently there is basically only one active developer - the webmaster. I contributed some back in the day, but he's since then switched to a different framework and getting into development is something that requires time.

SOOOOO....what you are saying is nothing will get corrected because no one is actively interested in making repairs and upgrades because the only one with the skill and authority to do so does not have the time or inclination to give this site the love and attention it needs to thrive and grow?

I'm ok with that, but I'm still wondering if there's any possibility of helping the site thrive and grow in spite of not being able to correct things in coding or whatever. there do seem to be several people here who are interested in building community. hmmm.

is the reason coding things don't get upgraded because it isn't worth the trouble for such a small community? if the community were larger or more active do you think the God of this site would put more time and effort into correcting things?

I'm not saying that, that would be certainly too pessimistic. I wouldn't mind getting back into active development again, it's just a matter of taking the time to set everything up on my current system (a headache in and of itself), THEN a matter of figuring out how this new codebase works, THEN a matter of actually starting to develop things.

LOL...I thought I was being optimistic.

I say the community can work around code defects and thrive and grow anyhow until the code can get upgraded, and say maybe a thriving community would encourages coders to do upgrades.

You're saying you really do WANT to do it, whether or not the community is growing, just you have to find time for setup and learning of a new system. which sounds pessimistic to me because it implies enlivening the community is pointless. [which you probably don't mean to imply, just like I didn't mean to imply you didn't fix things cause you didn't care.]

I apologize for sounding negative. I'll try not to do that any more.
