Just made an account and uploaded an image.

10 years on Deviantart. Unhappy with the present ongoing change there. Looking for somewhere to move to. artri.se and artspacious looks promising but a long time before there is something that can be used.

This site has a lot of what I want in an art site. Not everything. But enough to be interesting. And the site is here now, not at best one year away.

The main drawback is next to no traffic as far as I can see. But I can see that change with DA insisting on shooting itself in the foot.
Welcome on Fanart-central. I hope you'll enjoy your journey. Smile

Thanks. Smile

Hoping for the best. The submit process seems a bit slow though.

The most depend on the image size - I've been active here since 2014 and I noticed that images above 2000 pixels wide/high and/or over 1.00 MB big tend to remain in the queue because the staff checks them whether they are legit for posting or not. Smaller images are approved automatically.

The posting limits are the only real flaw on this site - the administration here is far more competent than on deviantART or other rival sites. Doubtfully Reasonable People also seem to avoid this site, which is a big kicker as well.

Could just be checking the new guy a bit extra. Things will probably run smother in time. Always takes a bit of time to learn the ropes in a new place. Smile

I apologize for posting this in the wrong thread but some people on Deviantart menaged to find some loopholes to avoid of being accused of art thief. Here an example.
https://www.deviantart.com/candysandycandy/art/Khai-The-Troll-imagined-855793527

I saved it on Archive.today and the Wayback Machine.
https://archive.ph/vXH17
https://web.archive.org/web/20210315143214/https://www.deviantart.com/candysandycandy/art/Khai-The-Troll-imagined-855793527

And here the original if you want to compare https://fineartamerica.com/featured/troll-o-vaering-by-theodor-kittelsen.html

The excuse she posted https://archive.ph/vXH17#selection-1437.0-1439.10
No, sampling is a legitimate art form. I noted: no copyright infringement intended. This work was meant as a statement re a person K*** that was hated my everyone on DA. I tried to understand and help him, but as others kept telling me, he was mentally troubled. Wanna know a secret? We all know you are K***.
Here the definition of sampling on Mirriam-Webster dictionary. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/sampling
1: the act, process, or technique of selecting a suitable sample
specifically : the act, process, or technique of selecting a representative part of a population for the purpose of determining parameters or characteristics of the whole population
2: a small part selected as a sample for inspection or analysis
ask a sampling of people which candidate they favor
3: the introduction or promotion of a product by distributing trial packages of it
Wiktionary have a more or less similar meaning. https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/sampling

Does this look like sampling to you? "No copyright infringement intended" is a lame excuse that lack imagination.

Edit: I saw then she changed the description of the fanart compare these versions.
https://archive.ph/vXH17#selection-1037.0-1037.66
https://archive.ph/OSWNa#selection-1037.0-1037.34 and now she claims another user started some rumors about her from what I read on these status posts saved on the Wayback Machine.
https://web.archive.org/web/20210315185000/https://www.deviantart.com/colonel-knight-rider/status-update/22136821
https://web.archive.org/web/20210315185240/https://www.deviantart.com/colonel-knight-rider/status-update/22126289

I stop here before I go too deep in the off-topic field.

It might be off-topic but since we talk of a Deviantart user on Deviantart, it might be worth to post it here despite then I already mentionned elsewhere. Doubtful then the staff of Deviantart might see this post but who knows?

I lurked a bit on Kiwifarms and sone people had posted more details about that white knight named candysandycandy who posted that fanart https://www.deviantart.com/candysandycandy/art/Khai-The-Troll-imagined-855793527 "borrowed" https://fineartamerica.com/featured/troll-o-vaering-by-theodor-kittelsen.html from what I read on the links to these archived comments who was posted on Kiwifarms. The comments dropped by Miel67 was flagged as spam in the second link.
https://archive.ph/wtGEC
https://archive.ph/6Ti22

Some comments then Miel67 mentionned and flagged as spam wasn't harsh and it wasn't bashing but I wonder if candysandycandy hide them because these comments might be an inconvenient truth? Neutral

After being on Deviantart since last September, she posted her own fanart. I wonder if she had visited the Fanart-central forums or Kiwifarms and that could have motivated her?

Looks like the art thief then I mentionned earlier had removed the stolen arts but the evidences are archived on the Wayback Machine and Archive.today.

I guess he checked the Fanart-central forums as well.

I lurked again on Kiwifarms and one member of the Kiwifarms forums didn't like then the forums was used as NYPA (not your personal army).

Maybe my imagination worked too hard but I wonder if he could be the Deviantart user PA(personnal army)? Laughing

I guess then CandySandyCandy's personnal army might not like then I saved these old comments then she did on Archive.today and the Wayback Machine.

Here a comment she posted on Sept. 11, 2020
https://archive.ph/l10f1
https://web.archive.org/web/20210330162847/https://www.deviantart.com/comments/4/23642988/4872029264

https://web.archive.org/web/20210330162942/https://www.deviantart.com/comments/4/65749551/4910855196

Since she mentionned a former DA user named Khai2000, I spotted these archived copies of his account dated from 2014 and 2015.

I digged a bit more on Google exploring for CandySandyCandy older posts on Deviantart and it bring me more suspicions since the beginning of her journey on Deviantart in September 2020.

Like that comment from Sept 15.

the interesting part in question. https://archive.ph/78p2s#selection-1037.0-1037.33
Gal: offensive term for a female.
Will the creators of the manga Super Gals have to rename their series since the term Gal is offensive?

CandySandyCandy goes on, if you allow me the epression, on the rampage, like some SJW named Trigglypuff and Big Red. She already hidden some of her comments before I could archive them.

I hope my posts doesn't look too much like spam, so we have to use the household cleaner Spic and Span to clean the forum. Embarassed

A comment then CandySandyCandy posted was worth to quote and to archive.

Back to Deviantart, here how DA looked back on August 15, 2000 thanks to the Wayback Machine for keeping these memories. https://web.archive.org/web/20000815205911/http://www.deviantart.com/
So, I have come to the conclusion that DeviantArt has won. It seems that FAC is dying and that DeviantART is picking up the pieces....

A sad day in FAC history.

I have also concluded that Denis hasn't been online since Jan 2013....

Perhaps he too has moved to DeviantArt.

Shocked
Wow, it has been more than 7 years since I posted that. It feels like just yesterday I posted that.

And here we are, more than 7 years later.

I have given birth to this post.

Amazing.

Whats crazier is when you think about how much happened in FAC's first 7 years (most of it's history happened from 2001 to 2008, lol) compared to the last 7 years.
