Anime Conventions

Has anyone been to some good conventions?
I know of one coming up in my hometown. It goes on every year at the university.
I dont exactly know how people can cosply for an entire day, walking around under the sun without dying of heat. @.@
Well, it was fun.
Anyone have experiences with anime conventions?

Um... yeah. The only one I've ever been to is AnimeEvolution. Every year I keep going back thinking it'll be better, but it never is, really. Only slightly better.

I go there for the dealer's room anyway. :x

I've been to an anime convention before. Anime Stl. (St. Louis) It was awesome, but I tell you what, cosplaying in the hot sun? Phew! But if you're planning to cosplay, there's one thing more frightening than the hot sun: GLOMING! My God, it was scary. I cosplayed as Haku from Naruto, and all the....hugs...*shudders* However, it was an awesome experience, and I'm sure you'd like it to! Very Happy

AnimeEvolution & Sakuracon.

I only went to AnimeEvolution their first year. Some year I may go again.....it's kinda a maybe each year.

Man, I really want to go to a convention! I've heard about them and seen pictures and etc. but I've never actually been to one~ I've been wondering-Where would they normally hold conventions if there was one in my town?

I think the ones they do in NYC and Boston rent a convention center, but don't quote me on that.

Never been to one, and I don't plan on going. If I do, it would have to be one in Montreal or in NYC, because I'm not willing to spend money for flights and hotels and shit.

I barely watch animu anymore and still go to Otakon every year to make an ass of myself for three days

There's an annual anime convention held in my hometown, Manifest. My friend cosplays, but I never have Sad

I dress in Elegant Gothic Lolita fashion though, but standing in line for 3 hours straight waiting to collect membership tickets, even pre-regs, is really bad. Aside from cosplay and Harajuku-inspired fashion parades, we have Anime screenings, AMV screenings, trader's hall where you can buy stuff from the Madman booth, as well as rare items from other traders and stores. There's also Japanese cultural stuff like Kendo demonstrations... It goes for about 3 days and is always heaps fun. I missed most of last year's Manifest because got a fever the night before, such rotten luck Sad

I just went to Anime Detour in beginning of April. There is Kakkoicon(con?kon?) in August. I want to go, but I'm thinking it may be too late already, meaning, it'd just be easier to go next year and be more prepared.

I'm going to A-kon in Dallas Texas this summer
its fun but alot of the people who go are freaks
they dont even rent a room they just sleep in the lobby an they never take baths! fat kakashis and inuyashas all over the place!
but there are also cool guys there who like anime respectfully so all in all its a good experience.

last year a fat Naruto kid ran up and tried to steal my wallet but i turned and he tripped, that was funny.
