Do You Take Requests?

i do requests, but I've learned my lesson about doing contests and haveing requests lines open. @-@ First I couldn't do anything I wanted, and second I got jammed up with everyone else's requests, and then they came out crappy... >/

Sometimes you just need to tell them no after you said you'd do it. >/

I'd like to do requests but the problem with me is that I take so bloody long to get to them that I don't bother with requests unless I'm 100% sure I'll be able to do 'em within a year. (Procastination... the number problem for artists like me, lol.)

Still, if it deals with something I either love or am passionate about doing, I'll go for it. Example, if you want a Devil May Cry Dante pic, chances are I'll take the request. Might take awhile but I'll get along to doing it. I love drawing Dante (lol, just check out my gallery and you'll see what I mean!). This also includes doing things for a special person that I owe a lotta gratitude to. Even if it takes a year or two, as was the case with a Final Fantasy pic I did for a friend, I'll commit myself into doing it.

We should request in the oekaki thread for a pchat, too. It's basically oekaki... but as the name implies, people can chat together and work on the same oekaki at the same time.

Oekaki thread? Have I missed something? o_O Wah, a FAC paintchat would be totally awesome. I haven't used one of those since freshman year...... That was a while ago! XD

Requests are usually a sign that you're a good artist, so it's always good to receive them...

but it's often extremely annoying with the people that'll want you to draw some famous person/popular character with their own OC's, usually paired up, or jsut their original characters....
I find this to be immensely annoying. It's just mary-sues all over.

I tend to do requests/art trades with people I've chatted to some and that know me. Usually the pictures drawn are interesting and to my own liking.

I'm not too good with requests though because I'm still developing as an artist and not that good, and when I think of (or in this case, am given) something to draw, more often than now, it doesn't come out that way. ;

...I can't be the only person like this, can I??

Still, well-thought out requests/trades are accepted and nice.

Lol, my friend's little brother always wants me to draw the green power ranger, so good advice Lindsay xD

As for requests, I usually take em if I think it's interesting or something new for me.
