Nothin Like Some Old School Disney

The Dreamworks animation branch was founded by Katzenberg after he left Disney with plenty of bitter feelings to boot. That's why most Dreamworks movies these days seem more like Disney movies than the stuff that Disney churns out does.

It's also why it seems like Disney is "ripping off" all the new Dreamworks movies that come out... Antz and Bug's Life; Road to Eldorado and Emporer's New Groove (originally titled "Kingdom of the Sun" and was meant to be more serious); Shark Tale and Finding Nemo; Madagascar and the Wild... When Katzenberg left he knew all the movies that Disney would be making for the next ten years and made it his mission to make their movies before they could, so it would look like Dreamworks came up with the ideas.

Though that said, I enjoyed The Wild a whole hell of a lot more than Madagascar.

I was wondering about that! That's just mean! To try and ruin someone who trusted you once! When I first saw Shrek, I wondered if it was a coincidence that disney produced Monsters.inc in the same period! Now I know! Grr!
