Apply Browse Settings

If you go to a gallery, you have this drop-down menu where you select in which order to display the images, but how do you APPLY your selection? There's no "Apply" or whatsoever button or so to click, all you can do is click the thumbnails link, but those will be automatically sorted alphabetically and I want to sort the images by date (newest first).

It's supposed to be refreshed automatically when you click on the selection. As far as I know, that only works in Internet Explorer. If you're on Mozilla, it won't work.

Oh, I have this problem too.
Gah, I can't stand IE. Hopefully you guys can get it to work with firefox as well.

On the plus side it works with Opera. =D <3

Well, it did that to me too, but then I fixed it by changing the list to thumbnails, changing the browse settings, then changing back to a list. Then after that all the browse settings I outlined worked properly. :x

A summary of the issue:

[b]Symptoms[/b]
Changing the sort options for a category listing has no effect. On Netscape or Firefox, the options simply don't work. On Internet Explorer, the page refreshes but pictures are still shown in the default order.

[b]Problem[/b]
- The Javascript code used to refresh the page does not function on NS/FF, only IE.
- Discrepancies between two different URL paths for category listings. Occurs with "cat-___.php" (newer) type URL's, but not "category.php" (older) type URL's.

[b]Solution[/b]
Only denis can truly fix the problem.

[b]Workaround[/b]
IE users:
1- Click the "Thumbnail View" link.
2- (optional) Click the "List View" link to go back to the list.
3- The category sort options will now work as they should.

NS/FF users:
1- In list view, right-click on the "Thumbnail View" link and select "Copy Link Location".
2- Paste the URL into a new tab/window.
3- To apply a custom sort method, add the following to the end of the URL:[list]&sort=name desc (Z-A order)
&sort=date (oldest first)
&sort=date desc (newest first)[/list:u]4- To specify a custom # of pictures per page (other than 100), add &amount= to the end of the URL and type the # of pictures to display. E.g., adding "&amount=20" to the URL will display 20 pics per page instead of the default 100.
5- The modified URL will display thumbnail view for that category with the sort option and/or # pics per page specified. Click on the "List View" link to view the category with the same sort method and # pics per page.
