I decided to take a programming class this year. I think it's going to be one of my favorite classes, but it's only the first day...
We started learning how to use java programming programs today. I barely know anything about it....hopefully I'll pick up on it as quick as I do other things.
So, to actually make this into a topic..
Does anyone else take a programming class(or has in the past)? How was that for you?
Does anyone use certain programs that they like in particular?
Is anyone a programmer by profession?
What kind of programs do you like to make?
Feel free to answer any other questions you can think of aswell.

Well, we touched on it in my ICT class last year. Nothing big, though. Just little things... Can't even remember it. :|
...
My brother got his Bachelors degree in Computer Programming a few months back. Final project was to make a teddy bear talk and function as a choose-your-own-adventure thing. For little kids. Mmm, yeah. XD He hasn't done anything after that yet, though... Just sat around playing WoW 24/7. _________________

I loved my high school programming classes. The first one was really hard for me, but they got easier as I went along. Sadly, my high school only introduced Java the year after I graduated, so I know random languages like BASIC and Pascal. Of course, I know some more practical stuff too - Java and C++. I'm a computer science student, but I don't do too much programming. There's lots more to CS that just being a code monkey. Mostly a lot of math.
Although I did do a cool team project a while back - we wrote a game of Antichess. You use a chess board and all the chess pieces, but your goal is to have all of your pieces captured first. ^^
Ugh. I still need to come up with a senior project. Can't graduate until I do... something. Don't know what though. *sighs* |
