I hope they let you use Colette!!!!!!!!! --.-- My big complaint with Tales of the World is that Colette is not playable! TT.TT My favorite character, tossed out like dandelions out of my mother's garden...

It looks like this new female lead for ToS2 will be using chakrams as well, though...

You're right, Trinity. A lot of the Tales mains seem kind of stock-hero-material. Always the bluff, brave, brash, beloved boy at the lead of his motley crew...

Except for Luke, who goes emo, and Senel, who was just obsessive.

But it does kind of make sense for the hero to be that way--the hero has to be able to unite all of the different wacked-out side characters, most of whom frequently hold conflicting ideas. If the hero wasn't an expansive enough person to be able to hold together multiple psychos, the rest of the cast would probably have to suffer for their recruitment to make sense...

I want more Zelos, personally. I want a free-run Zelos. 8D I want a Zelos that might possibly be able to learn Swallow Kick, because that is as of now one of my favorite moves evar.

But personally, I think Luke did a great job as a main lead. :'D I liked him so much better than any other main lead, even AFTER he cut his hair. <3<3<3 But man, I dunno, I like the leads with light-colored hair, but they just seem TOO stock. Even more so than Veigue, Reid, Lloyd... I mean, those guys had stand-out characteristics. [s]mostly the bellybutton for reid...[/s] But, these guys are, like... anybody. Anywhere. D:

Just a small update on the ToS Wii game: It turns out that it's not a true sequel so much as a sequel-spinoff, if that makes any sense.

"In a recent interview with producer Makoto Yoshidumi on Japanese publication Famitsu, he talks about the upcoming sequel. "The reason why we did not name this Tales of Symphonia 2 is because the game concept is quite different from the previous game. Now players will be able to have monsters as party members and can level up together with the main characters." Like Dragon Quest and other RPGs, players can have monsters join their party when meeting certain conditions after completing battles. Monsters will most likely be controlled by AI and simple commands might be included, but the producer is still keeping details under wraps. "

lmao, catching monsters. I feel my Pokemon Master soul burning deep within me... 8D; It's starting to feel a little lame. :\ I hope the actual product is better than it sounds right now, because this is a little disappointing. (For Symphonia fans, I bet. I still have my eyes on that Rebirth port. )

So yeah, I wonder how else they'll implement the Wiimote? Just using it to select stuff on a "menu" doesn't seem like a great use of that asset (but then again, I've never really figured out how you could use the Wiimote in a non-conventional battle system like the one Tales uses).

ToI ought to be good. In an interview with the producer or something (sorry, I don't have the article for this), he says that ToI's been in development since ToW was in development... which is a really long time. I hope it's good. It'd be a little sad if it weren't.

Keeping in mind that this is still an early screen for KoR... It's still a bit disappointing, though. Let's hope they have it cleaned up a bit by the time it gets out (since it doesn't particularly seem like a next-gen game. But then again, rumor has it that it was originally supposed to be developed for the PS2, but upper management decided to push it on to the Wii - show some support for Nintendo, who are clearly winning the arms race, and plant a firm hold in the Wii: catching fans and the like. BUT AGAIN, JUST A RUMOR LOLS).

I think they look really similar as well. And probably like every other person who've seen them. XD; I've heard speculation that the ToI character is the KoR character when he's... younger, or something, but... I doubt it.

Hmm... @.@ So many Tales coming out now! It's becoming difficult to keep everything straight.

I guess we'll just have to see the way they come out, but I have to admit...knowing that you can use monsters on your team has me worried about ToS2 (or whatever it's called).

God. I dunno; I've heard some people say that the chars from TOS are playable, others say they're not... Which way is it gonna be?? :/

You can totally tell it's made for the Leon fans, but... AUGH *puts it on preorder*

It's going to be released January 31, 2008 in two versions - the regular edition (~60$) and a limited edition premium box (~70$).

The extra $10 is totally worth it, imo - it comes with a mini (128p) artbook, 21-track ost, and that nice box with Inomata art specially made for it (I believe).

Yeah, I heard about that and laughed. He looks much older now, too. I heard rumours that it's just the PS3 version, though - apparently the Wii isn't getting a SC4 version since it doesn't have the capacity to support the graphics.

But, you know... Rumours.

I don't know the chances of an english release, but I assume they're on the low side. I mean, ToD Remake didn't get any news of coming over here... But who knows? Maybe the Director's Cut edition will have a better chance since it has new scenarios and stuff. (Not that the Remake didn't from the original, but... I wanna play Leon mooooode ;-;)


Either way, I'm still getting the LE Premium Box. (<3 Midorikawa Hikaru) If it ever comes out in english I'll buy it too. :3

That's easily the number one game I'd recommend to anyone with a PS2. It's the best RPG on that platform, seriously. o_o; Yes, greater than Xenosaga *punched*

Anyway, yeah~ I heard about Vesperia but I haven't really looked into it. As for it being for the 360, I could see that. It might be an unexpected hit, like Symphonia was on the GC (though less so in Japan, I guess o_O).

Within it, the power to do so is granted." (Don't take this last sentence literally 'cause I had to guess at one of the words XD;)

Then character quotes, blah blah blah... The character designer is Fujishima Kousuke (as if we couldn't guess XD) and thus the director is the same guy who did Symphonia and Abyss.
