InuYasha Movies-Just how far into the series do they start?

Hello thereness everyone, I have come here seeking knowledge and figured the great anime lovers of fanart central were the ones to call upon! I recently bought the complete InuYasha TV series 1-7 and the 1st 3 movies. They haven't arrived yet and I'm dying to watch them all but what I really want to know is how many episode was aired before the 1st movie: Affections Touching Across Time please and likewise for how many episodes between the 1st movie and the 2nd: The Castle Beyond The Looking Glass and the same goes for movie 3: Swords Of An Honourable Ruler. The main reason I want to know this is because I don't wanna be a complete dork and screw up the episode order by watching the movies and not having a clue about the background or what's going oness really...

I say watch the first three or so story arcs then try watching the first movie. The movies fit in between random parts of the TV series if I'm not mistaken, and if you've seen a good chunk of the TV series you'll probably have a good idea what's happening.
