Based on a popular 4-panel comic about the Japanese otaku lifestyle, this manga follows Sasahara Kanji as he dives face first into a world of anime, manga, video games, pornographic doujinshi, and the like. Kio Shimoku pokes fun at every element of the otaku world. This is an anime for hardcore fans, with very complicated references that will test your knowledge of all things otaku.

NOTE: I didn't get tested on my knowledge because well. I just don't know....

I seriously liked this anime. Made me laugh and kinda felt weird watching it because I say I'm a otaku myself but if means different in japan it's just odd now....

I also found a little tid-bit of trivia form this anime:

While Kujibiki Unbalance mostly exists within Genshiken only,a three episode OVA was created, never really saw it but i'm looking for it.

My favorite ep. was ep.10 - Leisure Time Expenditures on Fetishism Considered as an Economic Result

So what did you think about this anime?
And which ep. was your favorite?

Genshiken is one of my favorites XD Though the manga is far superior to the anime XD Goes on for a lot longer then the anime, introduces new characters and such

How can you have trouble finding the Kujibiki Unbalance OAVs though? One episode is included in each of the three DVDs

Genshiken was great, so is Kujibiki Unbalance.

Too bad Kujibiki Unbalance is only 3 eps, I would have liked to watch it as a full 26 ep series.

I think I read something about a second series of Genshiken but I can't remember so it may have been something else I'm thinking of.

Somehow I just knew you'd say you wanted to see an entire series of Kujibiki, Denis. 8D It's like the ultimate otaku series.

((I kinda want to see one too though >.> ))

I really like this anime. I only wish it were longer... I want to know what is going to happen to all the characters.
