Ash Wednesday

Okay, today (March 1st) is Ash Wednesday. 40 days 'til Easter. And to my current knowledge, as a tradition to this 'Ash Wednesday' we are supose to give up something for these 40 days. (Until Easter) Now, this 'thing' that we are supose to give up is supose to be like, really important or something. Like, something we think we can't live without. You know, like, text messaging on a cell phone or something. Or listening to certain band, or playing video games. Something like that.

My friends and I thought this would be fun so we each thought of some stuff to 'give up' for 40 days. On of my friends is not going to listen to his favorite band for 40 days. A couple of my other friends are ganna not drink pop during this time. Another is ganna stop drinking coffee. Another is going to not eat Mazzio's food (he works there) for 40 days. And he's also not ganna listen to Weezer too. As for me, I'm giving up my Playstation 2 games. Yes, a tough challenge I know, but I think I can do it! lol

Okay, so... what are you going to give up for 40 days?

Hahahaha. I have such a forgetful memory that I don't know if I could totally commit to this. But I'll give a shot.

I suppose I could give up listening to Guns 'N Roses or Motley Crue for 40 days. Is that good enough?

its called "fasting" brian. lots of religions do it for lots of different reasons. i usually don't spout out over used phrases, but i feel this is appropriate:

I know the terminology Will, and even though "lots of religions do it", doesn't mean that I am in any way affected. I'm gonna laugh through the whole thing. Perhaps you should get a better phrases, "failed" isn't the right place for it. Rolling eyes

hmm.. I'm not Christian, but this seems like a good time to go on a diet than any! How about I give up eating dessert after every meal (excluding fruit. that's good for me! Very Happy

). Do you think that's good? I eat dessert after EVERYTHING. X_X

I'm giving up my precious video games too. (As I mentioned earlier) And I think I may also give up listening to Modest Mouse too.

Oh, and I think that this is a Catholic festivity, not Christian. Because it fallows Frat Tuesday.
