At least that's the age for shota/loli. :/ I think that's the actual age line in Canada, too. :X
*never seen subs* Tho they look better than the English release. And they cut A LOT of stuff out of the dubbed version too. As far as Kaiba, his English voice sounds like he has strep throat.
And I thought it was under 18. Who knows. That doesn't stop her from being scary as hell and in need of a good bitch-slap.

OMG, that was the weirdest and most disturbed thing I have EVER read.
I couldn't even finish reading it, actually. My eyes hurt from all the rolling.
I...don't even have any words for this person. They need to be locked up. Seriously.
Now I know the true meaning of "obsessed". |

If I spoke Japanese, so would I. xP But I get confused easily when I hear people speaking gibberish without a translation somewhere. Japanese voice actors own English ones so much. English voice actors don't really seem to take their role as seriously as the ones in Japan.

I'm sure quite a lot of them do, actually. I really like Scott McNeil. 8D But the thing is, the better the voice actor, the more expensive, right? And it doesn't help that the US, who typically license most anime for us English-speaking people, is a very capitalist society. _________________

I sort of meant that they don't seem to put as much emotion into their roles. When I heard the voices in Japanese, the characters seem to be given more life. It's kind of hard for me to explain. I wasn't sure how to phrase that, sorry. >_<; There's a lot of good English voice actors, but like you said most of the time, translating companies aren't able to hire the really amazing super-talented voice actors that Disney does. (but I gotta say I'm a huge fan of the Lupin dub ^^) |

It's not that they aren't able, per se. It's because a lot of the companies (particularly 4Kids) don't want to spend the money on them. Hence why I mentioned that fact that US is capitalist; they want to make as much money as possible without spending any. :<
That's why Canada > US when it comes to the quality of anime/cartoons. :> _________________
It's a well known fact that most anime fangirls are secretly lesbians, and that girly-boys are their only reprive from hiding their secret.
Congrats on being straight, Joou.
That is the best thing I heard, yet. Congrats. 8D
I don't know about these 'bishies' but, I know enough to stay away from rabid ass fangirls. OH! That reminds me..a 2 year ago trip to Otakon.
I was Kikyo from Inu-yasha. I walk by this other Kikyo and she fuckin' flipped out. She said to me, exactly "You cannot have Inu-yasha, he is mine and mine only." I stared at her blankley, because it frightened me greatfully. |

Damn that's creepy. And Inuyasha's not all that spectacular looking either, and neithre is his personality (I sometimes wish that if these fangirls must obsess over a character it should be at least one with a good personality) :/ Sounds like she really needs to take a couple big ol' reality pills.

You're right, they really don't put that much emotion into their roles. At all. I suppose a few of the voices are fitting- I do like Honda and Jounouchi's dub voices. And they did an excellent job on Pegasus (hee, he sounds just like the Japanese "drunk American fool" voice. 8D
Yugi's voice is fitting enough, I suppose, but I loathe YYugi's voice.
Not to say there aren't dubs I don't like. Not going to do a lashout at 4kids or anything here, but it is mostly their dubs that make my ears (and sometimes even eyes) bleed.
And aha, yeah, that Sephiroth chick. I remember her.
Anybody here ever read the article by the Creepy Obsessive Kurama Fanthing? Funny s**t. Recommend you highlight while you read- much pain otherwise.
What I'm trying to get through here is that ... I'm in love with him. Madly. See, I'm still single. Okay, maybe it's because I don't exactly have what a guy would look in a girl at first sight. And not like I care in the first place. I feel like I'm a taken girl. Taken by Kurama. That sounds weird, doesn't it? (I am weird anyway) He isn't even real, I definitely can't show the gorgeous red-head in 3D to my friends and call him my boyfriend. He isn't here to take me out to the movies, dinners, the park, make out ... okay, I'm getting a little out of hand here. Yet I still hope that one day it would come true. I have a feeling that it will. Someday. Maybe when the time comes that I take my final breath ... he will come and sweep me away in his arms.
I've seen that before. I was just like, "Oh, what the hell? Why does my friend keep showing me this bullshit? I've seen it a hundred times before, and I've better things to do than laugh at some retard on the internet..." tte, na.
You know. Once or twice, haha. Any more than that, and it really starts to irritate me.
Said friend also showed me half a dozen sites dedicated to Sephiroth and/or Hojo! love, so... *shrug*
And just for the record, Pegasus was the only voice I liked in dub Yuugiou. (Although it's kinda weird; what's he drunk off of if he's drinking "fruit juice"? That cheese? Pretty hawt thar, yo.) The rest was s**t. (Well, Kaiba had the best v.a. only because Eric Stewart also does Brock, wut. 8D) And I see what you mean about YYuugi. Two emotions: anger... and more anger! 8D If he tried to do anything else, it didn't sound like it at all. Hell, even the angry thing was really grating and starting to sound fake because he sounded like that all the fucking time. :]

That Kurama thing wasn't nearly as bad as the Sephiroth one.
I love reading things like that, they make me feel like I am the only normal person in the universe.
I think the dubbed anime that annoys me to the most extreme is One Piece.
I hate Sanji's voice so bad. |

So people obsess over characters at the age of 26, or are in love with a character? And? They must be complete retards?
And because some of you people didn't went through a fangirl/boy phase you are all above them so you can make fun of them and their art/way of drawing/approach of life?
Just let people do what they like, and live their life how they want. And if they want to go head over heels over pen and inked characters or draw marimbas all day or bishonens that look like women, just let them for crying out loud! |

^ I actually kindof agree with her. Not that the obsessiveness doesn't freak me out, but I personally find it better than obsessing over a real guy (ie Gackt or whatever). _________________ |

I am a fangirl, I just don't go trumpeting it all over the place.
I like to read people's fan-obsessed rantings because they are truly funny. I respect what they think/feel, but I still like to laugh.
Everybody is free to do whatever they want, and think whatever they want, and say whatever they want. It's what makes you you.
Just because you're in love with someone that doesn't exist, doesn't mean you're a retard. |
So people obsess over characters at the age of 26, or are in love with a character? And? They must be complete retards?
OROKA NA NINGEN MEEEEEEE
lolol closet fangirls
..That was my first response. 8D My second response is: There's a difference between being obsessed with a character and being obsessed publically. Most public offenders have a habit of saying inane things that would make anyone ashamed for them. Take Princessx's statement, for example:
I was Kikyo from Inu-yasha. I walk by this other Kikyo and she fuckin' flipped out. She said to me, exactly "You cannot have Inu-yasha, he is mine and mine only." I stared at her blankley, because it frightened me greatfully.
And they were just COSPLAYING. Nothing more, nothing less. But she managed to get someone pissed off at her for acting a character who has a relationship with Inuyasha. That's rude, disruptive, and alienating. And you're saying we should just LET people do stuff like this to us? You have got to be joking.
And it's not just "fangirling" but the inane immaturity of a large number of people.
We don't care if you like Inuyasha or if you want to marry him or whatever bullshit. But as soon as it's public, it encroaches on everyone else's privacy, and it's irritating and annoying. And stuff like Nami's incident happens quite often on the interbutt since little kiddies try to get away with whatever they want because OMG ANONYMITY! and, like I said, it's rude and alienating. Put. A. Sock. In. It. Fanthing.

Whoah, where did I say they couldn't? I don't believe I ever placed a rule saying that I was the God of the Internet and that I officially disallow drawing of bishonen or the rabid fangirling of fake "boys". I just think it's extremely annoying, creepy, and a few otehr things, and that's just my(and quite a few other people's) personal opinon. d(^_^)b _________________ FAC |
