So there's this book that I read about, oh, 6-7 years ago. I can't remember the title of it, but the plot is so clear in my mind that I can't honestly convince myself that I've just made it up. If I have, it's a damn good idea. If any of you have heard of it, please, PLEASE let me know.
The story starts off with this girl who is a servant and her mistress. They're doing something in a field. The servant gets kidnapped by some winged prince/demon man, who carries her back to his castle. He kidnaps beautiful women to steal their youth and beauty, but he is disappointed because she isn't beautiful and he can't use her. Not knowing what else to do with her, he just leaves her in his castle. Lots of stuff happens, including her finding a room in which all the shriveled women are. In the end, she literally gives him her heart so that he can live. And I do mean literally. She pretty much takes it out of her chest and gives it to him. His "mother" (I can't recall, but I'm very sure that she is his adopted mother) is a witch who lives in a castle of ice beneath some lake, and I'm pretty sure that she turns up in a sequel, not the original book. All of the names are Spanish sounding. I remember this clearly because at that point in time I couldn't roll my 'r's and seeing that instruction in an index in the back made me frustrated.
Does this ring a bell for anyone? |

A few friends recognize it, too, but we can't for the life of us figure out what it is. |

For some reason, I keep thinking it begins with an "r" but I'm not quite sure... Isn't it frustrating not being able to know what it's name is? _________________ What does it all MEAN? |

I think it was...almost. It was a psuedo-diary style. _________________ What does it all MEAN? |

I don't think it was written as a diary, the one I'm remembering. And it had nothing to do with wolves.
Bah, this annoys me. |
