Just watched this movie yesterday. I highly suggest it to everyone. Extremely twisty turny plot, but very well done. Kevin Spacy is superb as always and suprisingly Kate Winslet (Titanic) did a great job as well.

The movie itself is about David Gale(Spacy) who's been put on death row for the rape and murder of his colleague and fellow anti-death-penalty activist Constance Harraway(Laura Linney). Three days before his execution Gale agrees to be interviewed by reporter Bitsy Bloom(Winslet) who then races to find out the truth behind the murder before Gale is put to death.

Directed by Alan Parker (Shoot the Moon, Pink Floyd The Wall, Angela's Ashes).

Sounds kinda similar to A Letter From Death Row. Then again, I suppose there are only so many possible plots to death row stories.

hmm sounds interesting, chris. i'll have to check it out. i like kevin spacey. kate winslet is kind of annoying, but that's good that she played the part well.

I dunno, this one's a bit different I would think. Then again, I've never seen A Letter From Death Row. One of those keep ya guessing kind of movies. Spacy's a philosophy professor who's basically the head of this group called Death Watch (tries to get people off of death row and stop the death penalty all together). But uh, yeah... a lot of the movie has to deal with fate with just a slight anti capital punishment political message, but it doesn't try to sway anyone either way. I hate to say anymore, don't want to give anything away...

No one's seen A Letter From Death Row. It's a Bret movie that's available pretty much nowhere. I got a pirated copy from Taiwan off Ebay. They did a good job, except Kristi's name is spelled wrong on the cover. Rolling eyes

I'm sure it's a bit different as well. Just a similar concept. ALFDR's really trippy, especially the ending. The acting's so-so, but the plot's cool. And Bret Michaels spends most of it shirtless...but that's not my reason for liking it. Very Happy

Haha surre it's not. Wink Yeah, if there were some way I could get ahold of it, I wouldn't mind seeing it either. There's just something about prison-ish movies that interest me. Hell, prisons in general, went to see Alcatraz in San Fran Very Happy.

Haha, it's not! It's not! I swear! It's just a little bonus... Charlie Sheen makes a short appearance along with Martin. My mother says the acting reminds her of lame porno acting, which is really a lot funnier if you consider the Pamela video. Razz And hey, there's a topless stripper scene that doesn't serve much purpose except Kristi wanted to be topless.
