Fac Is Getting Big

Yesterday for the first time FAC topped 1 million page views in a day (and about 5.4 million hits and over 25,000 visits that day)

Its about doubled in the last 6-8 months.

I contibuted about 50-60 of those views Very Happy

I was in a computer store at the mall and i set FAC as all of the computers home page!

Denis, why don't you add a little "pageviews today" stat to the stats page...
According to Alexa.com, FAC is site number 37,096 according to the amount of pageviews a day (or something along those lines.... wich means its not so big Rolling eyes

What do we need to be around 400 like deviantart? Surprised

we need you to promote FAC at your school. buy a tshirt and wear it, buy a mug and give it to your art teacher. buy some mouse pads and switch them out with the schools pads. spray paint "Fanart Central" on the side of every building from the school to your house. stuff like that will help.

Well, considering how many millions of websites there are, that is pretty good. Yeah, not in the top 1,000, but...

Anyway, dA just has a bigger rep. It's a corporation, it has a more "official" layout, and it appeals to a wider range of artists (photographers, etc.). It's also important to note that the artists on FAC, overall, aren't that great. We do have our gems, but most of those gems also have a dA account anyway. And with more good artists, dA gets more hits.

edit: but woo, congrats on the 1mil hits in a day~ :3

Lol that would be fun....

Well...we use uniforms at school so no FAC tshirts for me.
And my school is small (96 people in all high school), of all the people I think that the only one who draws there is me, and I know almost everyone... :(

Yes, that's why I said, what would happen when we get the new layout, it makes a great difference you know....

The question is, what do we need to do to attract more "good artists", or what features FAC lacks that could help the site grow.
