Why Does [character] Have Such Stupid Fans?

Ever notice how certain anime characters always get the weirdest/creepiest/most annoying fans, and others seem to be left untouched?

Why is this?

Sometimes it has absolutely nothing to do with the personality of the character, and sometimes it does.

Examples:

Yami Bakura (YGO) : Always has the claimer fangirls who try to act gawth and think blood and gore is a beautiful thing, and proclaim their love for pointy objects. They act like Jhonen Vasquez characters. This could be because of the character himself. He's psycho, and is known to have a thing for blood.

But.

Kakashi (Naruto) : He's a pretty calm character. Intelligent, skilled, etc. So why the hell are all of his fangorls the babbling kind who don't know how to spell? I've never met an intelligent Kakashi fangirl. Ever. E.V.E.R.

Anybody else notice fangirl patterns?

Why characters like Amy Rose from Sonic have crazed fans has got me baffled.

None of the fandoms I'm currently *involved* in really have a big fanbase, but what the hell. Lets name a few I was big in.

Zelos from Tales of Symphonia has some pretty stupid-- no, extremely stupid and ANNOYING fans, the same goes for Kratos, except the fangirls of Kratos tend to be into the whole false angst type thing.

Basically any male character from Shaman King. Faust has 1271097380372 Daughters, Yoh is aparently a bara sex toy-wtf. o_o And that's just to name a few. Butyeaah.

More when I can think of them, probably some stuff on Rozen Maiden fans. o_o

What about the people who hate characters for no good reason? Like people who hate Collete beacause she's positive.

Yeah, she was. But that's a good reason to dislike her. She was still fun to use as a first player character in the beginning of the game, though. I thought so, anyway.

I actually don't like Sheena, at all. I know she's a popular character with the male and female fanbase, but she just came off as hollow to me in the end. :\

Kikyo's one of the few characters from that series I can tolerate. :/

My fandom is virtually non-existant (Summon Night). It has like... 13 english-speaking fans to date. And we're all relatively intelligent because, well... I doubt some pasty faced asscrack of a fantwit can read enough Japanese to play the games. 8D

But in my old fandoms... Let's take Yuugiou, for example.

There are reasons why I don't ever, [b]ever[/b] go to the Yuugiou fanart section. In fact, the only Yuugiou fanart I've seen in the past two years (excluding the stolen japanese stuff the occasional fantwit likes to spam their sig full of) is Joou's stuff. :x

Seriously. They're all retards.

We won't even go [i]near[/i] the topic of Yuugiou fanfiction. Nononononono. o_o

Pop'n Music fandom is mine and mine alone. Okay, I've got one friend who shares my Deuil enthusiasm, but not nearly to the same extent. I know there are other English-speaking Deuil fans out there, but I'm not sure how to find them. It's not really a current fandom anyway.

I'm not really part of any other fandom. I prefer not to associate too much with most other anime fans, as most of them seem to be stupid preteens. I haven't obsessed over an anime character in years anyway.

I noticed that Sesshoumaru fangirls tend to be really, really ditzy and bubbly and stupid. It gets annoying after awhile especially when half the time all they're going on about is how hot he is. There are a hell of a lot more qualities to the guy, positive or not.

That's true. I mean, for a while I absolutely loved Toboe because he was so adorable, but after a while (and after Raku_and_Ji_Supporter pointed my otaku-ism out) I realized that there was more to him than his looks. So I did some soul searching and lo and behold, I have grown to love him for more than his looks. I love his innocence and his personality . . . pretty much everything about him. (Though I still think he's adorable. :wub: )

I can't hate crazed fangirls because I used to [i][b]be [/b][/i]a crazed fangirl, but I've gotten better, so why can't they? It's like recovering from a disease/coming to your senses. XD All I have to say is good luck finding a cure. Most of the time it takes a smart person's comment, like it did with me. Thanks, woman! ^_^

I'm a Kakashi fangirl, and a Sesshomaru fangirl. The reason characters like them seem like they have such stupid fans is they are the loud ones, so their the only ones you ever hear from... or at least, the ones you remember.
