Sry, Sex Machineguns is the best Japanese metal ever.
I enjoy Dir, though. Everything but the rabid screaming parts. |

I agree. :0 Dir is way overrated though, I think. If the vocalist just sang instead of mimicking fellatio of a cat I'd probably like them more, but..

I've heard of Dir En Grey. One of those Visual kei bands, right? I like Malice mizer and moi.Dix.Mois...so I'd probably like Dir En grey, right?
Did you know there's Band called the Fart rollers? Funny, huh? _________________ I have magical female powers

Malice Mizer is way different than Dir, they sing and play instruments. Dir violates people's ears and screams.
Not sure about Moi dix mois, though the dragfag from MM made that band, so I assume they're primp and perfect. :0 _________________ |

DEG probably was one of my favorite bands, before I started my odd...Nip hop phase. Moi Dix Moi and Dir aren't...really the same. Moi is more gothic and Dir tends to get on the punkish side sometimes.
If Dir could be compared to any other band it'd probably sound more like Miyavi. Or Pierrot at times too.
Well anyway *goes to download Sex Machineguns since I'm always looking for good J-music*

YES I AM!!! THIS IS NO COINCIDENCE.
Dir isn't VK anymore. They dress normally for the most part and have completely abandoned the scene, so give them credit for that. They have nothing at all in common with bands like Moi Dix Mois and Malice Mizer. Not saying those are bad bands (in fact, MM was my favorite band for a few years), but they are not something to compare to Dir. I can't really think of any equivalent to Dir.
They're a band I've enjoyed for some years, that I was a little turned off from by the latest album but came around a year later (really! I got Withering to death the day it came out, listened to it once and then let it sit for almost exactly a year before I gave it a relisten and figured out that it wasn't all that bad.).
Their musical changes seem to reflect the changes in my taste in music, so they're almost always listenable for me (except lately I've become a complete Johnny's whore so I'm all poppy boybands right now). Sure, I passed on the chance to see them when they played in LA, but they're not a band I want to see live any more. Their lives disturb me nowadays, and I like to enjoy myself at/watching a live so I don't buy their DVDs any more or take any neat chances that come my way. I might go to the tour start show in August if just to see if I really won't enjoy myself the way I think I won't.
Emily: klick heer 4 awesome SMG
I have all of their albums uploaded so I can whore them out to anyone who seems even remotely interested. Unfortunately they announced their second damn breakup last month so nothing new will be coming for a while. Yes, they are like that. Break up for six months, do solo work, then come back together. Lose a few members, gain a few members. YEY MERRY GO ROUND.
"Nip hop"... DOES THIS MEAN YOU LIKE RIP SLYME?
Or are they not hoppy enough for you? |
