Anyone ever seen this?

I'm posting this here for a friend of mine who's a mod on another site.

A user has been posting this image there and claiming it as his own, my friend is 99% sure it's a stolen piece, and is pretty sure it's from some video game. He's just been having trouble locating the original. I told him I'd post it here and see if anyone from FAC knows what it's from.

It does look familiar, but I can't place it, myself. It looks remotely anime-ish.
