It depends on what the subject matter is as well as the mood you're trying to convey. I love all media. Acrylic, charcoal, watercolor, color pencil, fabric, wood, metal, clay, pixel, vector... |

Media... is not a brand, it's what it is, fundamentally.
me, I love gouache, oil, markers
I'm indifferent to pastel and pencil crayon
I don't like oil pastel and acrylic
I loath charcoal. _________________ "Sarah's future makes me sad." - Benk |

In color pencils there are brands. Like crayola, rose art etc. Maybe my words were confusing but yeah that's what I meant^-^ sorry for confusing ppl _________________

charcoal, ofcourse. But a good job in pencils is okay too. Charcoal is, for me, the best media to work with just because it's so easy to blend and when it's used good, it has a nice look |

OMG so do I. I heard it's really hard to do well, though. _________________ Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you're up to.

I like to use graphite, charcoal and conte crayon.
I think conte crayon is really good, I compare it to charcoal in that it can create the same effect but applies smooth, it doesn't smudge and blend as well as the charcoal does but its just as good.
Ink is great for creating small contour drawings, and comics, anime, etc.
I like oil paints just as much as I like acrylic. Acrylic drys quickly but mistakes can be easliy fixed because colors can be placed over a mistake flawlessly.
Oil paints are very smooth and take some practice, but I like to use my fingers with this paint at times because, even though its paint it blends very well (like the oil pastels but a much more smooth blend).
Watercolors also take practice but if using the right paper it can be awesome to use. |

I prefer markers for colouring and sometimes pencil crayon if I don't have a marker that is the colour I need. I also use black permanent marker for outling and coluring pure black spots.
Another reason for using permanent marker is that it won't mix with washable marker when I colour. I always colour after I outline (except for pencil crayon. If I'm colouring with pencil crayon, I do it before outlining). |

I think it depends on what you're doing. I use oil paints and acrylics when i want to do something in colour with detail. If i want a blurred effect i use pastels, and if its a doodle or a cartoon, I use my trusty black biro and then colour it with colored pencils.
I HATE the turps smell that you get when using oils blerch! |

Pencils. That's all I use. They're the best in my opinion. |

I agree, pencils are all you need and it's all that I use - although I have once had a go at using charcoal and that didn't come out too bad. |
