You can always use a digital camera, so long as:
1 - You aim the camera directly at the drawing (not at an angle), otherwise the image will appear slanted.
2 - You adjust the camera for proper exposure before taking the picture. (Very important!) Countless drawings have been ruined because of poor exposure (either too dark or too light) -- here's a recent picture that was taken with a digital camera. While it doesn't have the [i]worst[/i] exposure I've seen, it did turn out much darker than a scanner would have made it.
