The critique WHAT YOU SAY-ery thread

Because sometimes people have a good intent, but wind up either insulting you, insulting themselves, or looking like complete morons.

This is the thread where we post these "critiques".



"[i]you dont need every detail and line of a face cuz that winds up looking weird...less face lines= pretty person[/i]" , ...on a drawing where I only did some light cheek and eye defining. Funny, I always thought that less face lines = mannequin.

"[i]this art style just rubs me the wrong way. i don't like it. I tend to lead more toward the anime esthetic, so i don't like the large nose and droopy eyes.[/i]" ...In which someone decides to encourage originality.

"[i]Instead of avoiding them, you should practice more on the eyes. Don't draw them shut like that all the time[/i]." ... on a fanart of Ling Yao from Fullmetal Alchemist, whose eyes [i]are[/i] slitted/shut 99% of the time.
