Really depends on who's saying it (if spoken), and the intended audience. I general, I tend to avoid the ones you mentioned since they feel somewhat juvenile to me. :x

I tend to go with "crap" or "shit" when it's being spoken. If not, then "feces" or, less commonly, "fecal matter". 8O

Ahh, and thanks for the clarification on the peoples's names. Man, you come up with good names. I find so much trouble in locating decent names for my characters. I made an excuse into part of the plotline of my story, but they still suck.

I want to stick to everyday, common names that don't seem completely out of place, but at the same time, I wanted them to have some kinda deeper meaning.

...It didn't happen.

Well, ONE character is named Kain. :3
Not sure how that works with anything.

And I need to scrap up some more characters. Right now, it's just the main two guys.

For name, I usually go to babynamesworld.com and just vote on the poll at the side untila decent looking name comes up, unless I have a specific orgin that I want the name to come from. I gave up on looking for names with a meaning long ago, because no one is going to exactly be looking up the meaning of the name. I jsut look for a name that doesn't want to make me vomit every time I see it since I figure I'm going to be looking at it a lot.

For a long time, only my two main characters, Sharne and Axel existed, along with a cameo appearance of Amore, because I couldn't figure out a way to add in more characters. But in recent chapters I've added in a million and a half (aka three) characters because I was running out of things to write ^-^;;;

Oh man, I really hav eot get writing. I thought I was doing good on the weekend, so i could take a couple days off to go shopping. Then I went shopping again. Now I'm grounded and as soon as my mum gets home she's going to spear me through the ribcage when she finds out I am on the computer DX Oh noezz, writers block~

Oh god. It's so depressing. Every night, I have to cram in enough time just to finish my daily amount of NaNoWriMo to stay on the borderline.
Sometimes, I manage to write about 100 or 200 words extra.
Next day, it's as if it doesn't exist. D:

I can't get ahead, and now my other story sounds like a boring piece of crap. Oh god, grinding out the descriptions and dialogue in that other piece is murder now. D:
I wish I could just go back to the crappy fanfic days of RP-talk:

Char. 1: I'll be your friend. ::holds out hand::
Char. 2: Hell no. You'll just stab me behind my back. ::shakes head::
Char. 1: ...Nuh-uh. ::pout::

That's basically what I've got to write. All decent-sounding, descriptive, and hopefully, mediocre-ly mature. D:

Yes, i know what you mean... I managed to get a ahead on the weekend, but I've screwed myself over now. Resorting to fillering with Truth or Dare to pass the time v_v this is worse than randoporn because it doesn't actually have any plot to it... DX

I knwo what's going to happen in a few weeks in my story, but I don't know what's going to happen right now in my story. And I can't time jump it because I just introduced new characters who currently have no personality and are just lumps on a log.

I've spelt "just" wrong so many times my mind is beginning to think "jsut" is the proper spelling....

Where did that delirious happiness of my last post go? ;_;

You know how I mentioned the little 'i hate you' bout my two MCs just suffered?
I've just turned that into a recurring problem. D:

But they go from 'i hate you' to ::gropegrope:: in about the span of, oh, say, a few paragraphs separated by the infamous * * *.
Oh god.

You know why I started this story? Some minor char in another random one-shot (kinda) of mine had sex with this guy.
For some reason, readers (total of about 2 XD) liked him and wanted me to give him a story.

So now here's this randomness.
Unfortunately, and I'm not sure why, I named the MC's friend in THIS story Kain.
While in that one-shot of mine, the MC there was ALSO paired up with a guy called Kain. Both with same red hair and about the same attitudes.
...Kinda.

So now I'll probably have some kiddos asking me why there's suddenly a time loop. :D;;;

I don't know how I manage to dig myself into these messes. Oh well.

Trapped at my dad's for the weekend, with no internet and only Wordpad No wordcounter or spell check D: Ye gads that was terrible.

But, since I didn't know when I could stop writing, I ended up writing an extra 2500 words only 4500 left to go!!!

And I really have no idea what to do with my story now, it either is going to have the worst, most rushed ending ever, be left open for a sequel for next year, or I'd have to actually keep writing it.

Since I currently hate my story with the firey passion of ten thousand burning suns, but don't want to be a totally crap author, I dunno what to do.

I say, continue with it until you get a decent ending, even if it goes past november. :) That's what I plan on doing, anyway. ...Because my story doesn't seem like it'll be able to close itself so soon.

I love it when my characters fight, it gives me lost of wordcount fodder. But my MC went and fixed his life so that people aren't fighting with him anymore... so I must make him screw up so I can abuse him emotionally again

My story may be almost done, but that doesn't mean it's not stupid. There's some random dream sequences, and a scene where all my characters dressed in lolita and went tot he grocery store like that... O_o No, i'm not entirely sure what kind of drugs they are on.

Well, it's set in recent times. My second MC (or is he called something different but also easily abbreviated?? :< ) is insane a little, but I don't think he's going to be biting.

Of course, he's working on NaNoWriMo himself as of now, so I'm waiting until November ends before I go beg him to fix up my story.

Oh, and the other day, I picked up the newest book at the library by Marcus Sedgwick, because I like his books.
It was called 'the foreboding' and I flipped it open to read the inside cover.

It's about a girl working as a nurse during WWII, and she suddenly realizes that she can see people before they die. She becomes determined to do something about this when she sees her brother dead.

But really, that's very disheartening D: but I honestly think yours sound more interesting... and less incestuous But at least you started your story before you found out about the book. Considering it is pretty much the worst case scenario, it's not really that bad, unless someone who is close enough/stalker enough to you knows that you like his books and noticed the similarity. But really, in such a case, they would probably already know that he stole your idea before you had it.

Unlike you two--and I have to say I'm really impressed with your determination--who have continued through your pains, I have fallen flat on my face. I only got 2,000 words down before I realized that this was one story that I just couldn't continue. I forced myself to come up with an idea, even when it wasn't really a story I knew I could continue with, and I definetely paid the price.

Interestingly enough, while my NaNo is officially dead, my fanfiction muse suddenly decided to come back. I cranked out 8,000 words in three days. O.o I don't do that very often.

Alas, the NaNo does not allow fanfiction...

I have to say, though, that even when I threw in the towel this time, it taught me a really valuable lesson. Next October I'll really start PLANNING my story before November, and not get caught up in the rush like I did this year.

Ian is a phenomenal beta. I always look to him for help. I do think, though, that he's pretty busy with college and the NaNo right now--I mean, he hasn't even replied to most of the RPs he's in, and that's, like, a first--so beta-ing might be on hiatus.

This being said, I'd be glad to beta for anyone if they felt like it. I actually enjoy betaing. It's like having a red pen...

It's sad to hear that you stopped NaNo... it is quite of a hard thing to do though, really. :/ (not to mention my multi-tasking)
But I suppose it's easier since I'm still in high school and I'm a kid with an OCD about getting all my homework done (or as much as possible) before I insomuch as get home. XD
I call it part of being lazy, but, well, huh.

My story's going pretty well. I'm basically grinding out my 1,667 words a day, (usually a few hundred more if lucky) and then coming back the next day to re-read it, edit, then smack on another 1.6k. Just barely meeting the daily minimum. It'd be kinda hilarious, really, if I got incapacited or something on the 30th just on my last 1-2k. XD

But so far, it's going pretty well.

...But not nearly as far as I need my story to get. o_o
No way I can end it by the 30th. Oh dear~

And then, once the pressure's off, I'm afraid I'll never get to finish it at all. ;o;

I'm on the homstretch now. I'm on my last five hundred words... my stomach is all clenchy with anticipation. I am fully expecting a mulitude of scantily clad dancers to burst in as soon as I type out that final 50 000th word. Of course, then I still have to check and see what the official wordcounter has to say about my story, and then I'll probably have to write at least a few hundred more.

As soon as this is verified, I am going to celebrate by printing off all 80 pages of my story, burning it, and dancing on the ashes while wearing nothing but a dress comprised of pop can tabs and banana peels.

My grades have done much suffering this month... (my math mark went down to 90% D: ) but I think I can say it was worth it... I have trained my sibling to not expect any computer time

As much as I appreciate that, I think you are too important for me to make you read my story... it would probably end in an embarassing type of disaster. Considering you are well known enough on this forum, it would be really... weird feeling for me.

I know exactly what you mean... (un)luckily, I have spent so much time on this story that I've forgotten what I used to do with my time on the computer ._.;; so much of my time in the future might actually be spent on this story. Tee hee.
