english class meets FFX?

So, yea.. For english class we had to write a poem/prologue after reading the prologue to The Canterbury Tales. We were allowed to use anything we wanted, as long as it was similar. I decided to use Final Fantasy X. This is what happens when an otaku has to write a prologue about a pilgrimage...

[u]Your Story Begins Here[/u]

The story begins with a man from the past,
The arrival of Sin and the die has been cast.
Our hero of time charges blindly into fights,
Considering only his thoughts of wrong and right.
This warrior of Spira, the real chosen one,
The only one able to make a bright, eternal sun.
By warping an innocent summoner's mind,
He puts her heart in a deadly bind.

This fated summoner, chosen at birth,
To raise mythical beasts out of the earth.
She follows her heart, but speaks not a word.
The final result of her quest seems absurd.
She travels through hardships to meet her demise,
As a young lost warrior changes her eyes.
Will this shy, fragile girl remain but a pawn?
Or will she find strength to create a new dawn?

A great horned beast, a fiend of the lands,
Ever the Ronso, forever taking a stand.
He fulfilled the wish of a man almost dead,
Honor replaced the horn snapped from his head.
To become a protector of an orphanized child,
Kimahri's life, now anything but mild.
This guardian, reborn, wielding his lance,
May give the new summoner a good fighting chance.

Two failed pilgrimages, going on three,
The Black Mage believes patience is the key.
She comes off a bit strong and harshfully stern,
You mess with her moogle, you just might get burned.
This wielder of magic, this terrible foe,
Unlike the summoner, her anger will show.
As events unfold, her short fuse is lit,
With so much to happen, someone will be hit!

A powerful star of the worst blitzball team,
This religious fanatic thinks all's as it seems.
His family was lost to the great beast called Sin,
Wakka hopes to defeat even one massive fin!
A thousand years pass and this man believes,
Only time may decay the Sin and relieve
The pain and suffering caused by their own.
"Only through time, may we atone."

A famous guardian, lost to the land,
Wanders with the wind, like a small grain of sand.
Merely a puppet of his own twisted tale,
His life now dedicated on a much larger scale.
Using his life as a guide to the young,
Auron hints in code, as if in a different tongue.
Kept from the Farplane, caught up in his past,
Just how long can this unsent last?

A spunky young girl, seeking answers and fact,
Meets our new hero and forms a strong pact.
She seeks an answer as if none had before.
Rikku knows nothing beyond simple folklore.
The counterculture of Spira depends on her mission
Of various summoners and their mysterious abduction.
A common thief, of that Yevon is sure,
But despite her wrongdoings, her heart remains pure.

I hope to live and describe this epic tale,
Our heroes may triumph, or possibly fail.
This old man remains, to witness the end,
As warriors of justice attempt to fend
From the terrible beast known as Sin.
I shall tell these tales and hope they may win.
There is little life left, so there's no reason to lie,
I must find these answers so I may peacefully die.

That was pretty cool. When we did the Canterbury tales we didn't do anything like that. You wrote that very well. Fits with the story.
